I stayed here with a few friends for a birthday celebration and we all enjoyed it immensely. The owners were unobtrusive and let us just get on with things ourselves but were available if we needed them. The lounge was a joy, a huge and beautiful room with a massive sofa, real fire we could light, lovely views and a... More

perfect, lovely site, right on the edge of buttermere. perfect for walkers. however don't expect luxury. the room was quite small. the shower room had no heating. there were only venetian slats at the window, no curtains. the extra blankets were nylon. the duvets were the cheapest i have ever seen. the breakfast was good, the place is very clean,... Stayed here in late March for a few days walking in Buttermere. We were in a twin room, which was cosy, with great views of the red squirrels climbing the trees in the morning. Breakfasts were great (although the breakfast room was cold- take a wooly jumper!) and packed lunched kept us going throughout the day. It's a lovely walk... More

We have just spent the weekend at Dalegarth bed and breakfast with a group of friends, all with children. The rooms were great and the lounge area acted as our base in the evenings with all we needed to get away from work phones, email and the trappings of modern day hassle. We had music, books, a log fire and... More

Stayed here and camped last year but as it was March we decided it would be too cold for camping and booked 2 nights in the B&B. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was very tasty! Great value! Would stay again.

I have just returned from a weeks stay at Dalegarth where I was a member of a brilliant group holiday organised and run by Nigel Walker of VegiVentures http://www.vegiventures.com/holidays/uk_walking_holidays/ My stay at Dalegareth was superb! I shared a room which was light, airy and spacious. the atmosphere was relaxed and very comfortable. I felt welcomed in the house as a... More

Stayed in this 9 bedroom Swiss Chalet style guesthouse many years ago when run by Ramblers' Holidays. It's owned by the National Park and is now leased to a lovely young couple from the Newcastle area who couldn't be more hospitable and welcoming. The place is clean, tidy, well run and well thought out as a B&B establishment, Not luxurious... More

We stayed here for a week during one of the wettest parts of the summer! However, the facilities were good enough to cope. The campsite is situated a very short walk from Buttermere lake, and you can walk around the lake to Buttermere village or Peggy's Bridge in a few minutes. The staff were relaxed and welcoming. There is plenty... More

Stunning scenery, great walking paths easily accessible that bring you around a beautiful lake, a very nice campsite indeed. James and Kelly were lovely and very helpful, the facilities were clean and spacious, the site itself is picture perfect, the breakfast was hearty and delicious for a great price. For a nice walk, go down to the lake and turn... More
