The atmosphere is rather like the "intourist" hotels of 80's Moscow, but the natives are very friendly and try hard to please, even though it must have been difficult fot them to comprehend my often colloquial english. The building is very plain, the rooms are basic although the hot water was hot,the TV worked and the place was clean.Adequate was probably are fair... Right now, while writing this review, I am in the hotel on a business stay which is in its 3rd week now, this long stay here didn't make me bored till date. The pics uploaded here may downgrade the actual feel of the hotel. I shall be uploading a few ones soon. This time in winter, when its bone chilling... More

This hotel seems to be the only hotel of repute which also has a fairly large number of rooms to accommodate visitors during seminars / conferences / meetings etc. The rooms are large and have heaters etc. Most rooms also have a balcony. The food is good...do not expect prompt service...they take their time but is worth the wait. If... More

It was my first trip to Nagaland and I was surprised to see such a good hotel at the heart of Kohima. The hotel was surrounded with greeneries and have a good view of parts of the city. Naga style menu was delicious which I thoroughly enjoyed. The rooms were simple and well maintained, and comparatively secure, as it is... More

We stayed at the Hotel Japfu for one night (some time ago, but I was moved to write this after reading other more recent reviews) because it was the only place to stay in Kohima on our tour of Assam and Nagaland. It certainly had an institutional feel, reminiscent of the Communist era in Eastern Europe in the 60's, the... More

Simple government run hotel. Very sparse and simple but just about the best in Kohima. The rooms are run down and musty. I had to open the doors and windows to start breathing. The hotel restaurant was again simple and just about adequate. It is centrally located and has a nice view. Not highly recommended but there is little other... More

This is a government run hotel with a huge and imposing entrance hall. The rooms were clean but badly in need of refurbishment with scuffed paintwork and ancient fixtures and fittings, the windows didn't close properly letting flies in. There was a balcony partly overlooking a garden but the view was rather grim and when I arrived there were piles... More

This hotel is fairly tired and in need of some TLC with flaking paint, old fashioned furniture etc. It is in a decent location and reasonably clean and for a night or two is perfectly acceptable. There is free wifi though the staff had a lot of trouble finding the password and it doesn't work in the rooms. The food... More

I stayed in the hotel for three day, loved the place and surrounding. The stay was good but the basic amenities can be improved a lot. The staff were good but the service is slow. The food at the restaurant is good. A caution, there is no service at night after 10 pm, not even drinking water More
