I made the mistake of booking a trip to Taman Negara as a 2N/3D tour. Even though the guide books make it sound confusing to do it independently, it's pretty easy to organize things once you arrive. If you must go through a tour company, just arrange transport. I had the misfortune of getting stuck at Woodland lodge. The chalet... More

After 8 hours drive from Singapore (Total 575km), we finally arrived at Taman Negara Woodland Resort. The resort is generally ok, with car park right in front of the resort. Not many staff around but they are friendly. We booked the deluxe chalet came with basic amenities - fridge, TV, Twin/Double bedding, bath towels, floor towel, kettle (You need to... More

This resort is hard to describe, the rooms are clean and ok and not too bad value. The whole area is odd and I think quality in general is low. The resort is very sparse and feels empty. One thing – don't expect to use the pool it is filthy, has lots of bits floating in it! The breakfast is... More

Whilst not the prettiest of hotels, it is the only one in town with 2 pools - wading pool and a larger one with a constantly running fountain in its centre. Perhaps to provide sounds of flowing water and reduce the heat from the scorching tiles. Water was slightly green but that didn't stop the guests from jumping in. Our... More

It is quiet hard to review this hotel. It is not bad, not good either, but than again not really expensive. Breakfast is ok, rooms are ok, service is ok. There is a pool and altough it said closed, we asked and could swim. It is nice to have a pool after a long day walk in the sweaty jungle!... More

Probably the resort was pretty good a decade ago but now, you have only an impressive hall and a pool. The pool was ok, I think it's the only resort in Taman Negara with one, but when we arrived it was closed for maintenance. After asking it 5 times (maybe a little pushy) , they promised that we could have... More

At RM108 per Standard twin sharing room, its cheap compared to the other resorts in the area. If all you're looking for is a place to crash after a tiring day in Taman Negara, this place does the job. Don't expect anything more though. There is a "restaurant" in the resort, however after tasting the food once, I decided to... More

I am not just unhappy with this hotel, I am offended by its existance. Firstly, dont book it because it has a pool, because it does not. As at February 2011 it is empty of water and closed. We originally booked at Woodland Resort and they tried to give us A WINDOWLESS ROOM for 160 ringit. I cannot believe that... More

Through a complete mix up in bookings I landed at The Woodlands Resort. The mix up was I thought I had booked a complete package for 2 nights( didn't read the small print) but in reality had only just booked the room. The room was the VIP suite and really as a room goes I could not fault it. There... More

We stayed this hotel for two nights for exploring the Malaysia Jungle. Because of the past experiences of staying in many Malaysian hotels, we had no high expectation at all when it comes to cleanliness of the hotel. As we expected, the room was surely dirty and nothing was properly maintained at all in this hotel. We found one cockroach... More
