Stayed there over a weekend! The hotel has everything to offer and the prices was totally fine as well! Its not one of the more luxurious alternatives in Unguja but good anyway! The service was very good and the staff very kind! The athmosphere was relaxed which i do prefer. You do not have many meters from the bungalows to... More

Old property, yes. Low standard, yes. But for us - 4 adults and 3 kids -Tamarind was pure luxury. Perhaps it is because the hotel and the surroundings represents something you consider being lost and only belonging to the past. In this hotel you are not hidden behind high walls and your everyday life is not ruled by a lot... More

Uroa beach, where Tamarind is located, is astoundingly beautiful, much less touristy than the beaches on the north coast and more "wild". Tamarind is located right on the beach and has a well kept swimming pool for swimming when the tide is low, definitely a bonus! However the rooms when we stayed there in August 2011 were appalling. The access... More

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during low-season. The hotel has a very nice local vibe to it, and we got a room right on the beach. It was nice to be so close to the beach that we could hear the waves at night. We enjoyed hanging out on the hammocks that were adjacent to the... More

Tamarind Beach Hotel was the 3 night Zanzibar retreat we chose at the end of our family Kilimanjaro trip. We had a comfortable family room right on the beach. The service was excellent from the moment we were collected from the airport. The food was superb with generous portions. A range of excursions are offered. Wi-Fi connectivity was free and... More

Me and my brother stayed here after a trip to Kili. Hotel has a very nice layout with little lodges dotted around. A very nice pool and is actually on the beach front. The beach is very nice, there is some seaweed but this is actually the better part as we had a walk up and down for quite a... More

We loved our stay here. We were here for 4 nights and loved this small hotel. The staff was so helpful, especially the bar and restaurant staff. It was lovely eating lunch by the pool and dinner listening to the waves on the beach. The beach itself isn't the best with a lot of sea weed and sea urchins but... More

With my wife we have spent 3 nights in 2009 December. First of all, this is not hotel, like B/B. It is sure that, sea, beach, atmosphere is excellent, but the place is horrible. We had to stay there, because we have got prepaid accommodation, we had no chance to change it. Before going there, personally I had a dream... More

Normally I accept a bad review but this one is a bit strange. The period of their stay was when Zanzibar had no electric power for 3 months, starting December 12 2009, but we had generator which was running 22 hours per day, any complaint about the remaining 3 hours is not fair. Many hotels in Zanzibar had no power... More

Recommended by friends, we booked 5 nights here - thank god we didn't pay in advance! The room was absolutely filthy with cob webs in the windows and all sorts of bugs in the bathroom. An unpleasant smell bothered us all night. The bathroom was close to unacceptable. The beach was ok, but since we went in the low season... More

Stayed for one week during low season we were the only ones there for part of it. It was great. The beach is amazingly beautiful and no one hassles you. The pool was nice and we enjoyed laying in hammocks watching the Indian Ocean. Food was good as well, it was a very relaxing week and we definitely hope to... More
