The hotel is okay, but the food is terrible. We had pasta for 7 nights, we already knew whats on the menu before we even saw it. Otherwise everything was fine.

The compound is very beautiful and spacious, with coconut palms everywhere. Nice Garden with lots of Bougainvillea and Hibiscus. The pool area is lovely and such are the bungalows - large, clean with everything you need. However, they lack a certain special something. The bathrooms are little more than functional. The cons of this place are the dining area, the...

Lovely location but that's the only positive thing about this place, Food - average, i.e. tinned hot dogs/mushy peas/tinned fruit/stale bread. The BBQ at dinner was the best and freshest, so if you have already booked then head for this. If you haven't yet booked, then, don't. There are much nicer places to stay, try Pongwe. Much more exclusive and...

Dear Guest,
thank you for taking the time to write a review of our Resort. As hoteliers, we are acutely aware that our entire success depends upon meeting or hopefully exceeding the expectations of our guests, and it is truly heartbreaking to hear from one of our guests that we were not successful at doing so.
In the meanwhile as...

I had an excellent 3 night stay here in a beachfront bungalow (highly recommended, as even when you want to escape the sun, you can sit on your terrace and hear the waves). The pool was wonderful-- 35 meters or so and I enjoyed swimming laps in the morning. The room furnishings are a bit worn but fine. Food was...

This resort served as the refugee camp for us as we were forced to leave an another Italian resort in Zanzibar owing to its substandard quality.
Our experience was very positive. Unlike some other reviewers here, we found the staff quite capable of speaking English. It is true that there are many Italian guests, however we did not encounter any...

Uroa Bay Beach Resort is a quiet and relaxing location on the east coast of Zanzibar. My wife and I recently visited for some relaxation after a hectic two weeks of travel and we were very pleasantly surprised as how beautiful the resort grounds are and how well maintained the place is. Well done! Rooms are clean and lovely, views...

My sister and i visited Uroa bay in November 2011. It was a fantastic place, the hotel is lovely, the swimming pool is clean and great and the rooms are also very clean and air conditioning makes the heat bearable.
Food was great too. We were there on a half board basis and they are flexible in that you can...

Now for Zanzibar and its climate, this was a great place to stay at! The rooms are beautiful, and clean, air conditioner ( which you need - trust me!) fan, mossie-net, TV, fridge, a private little patio, everything your need!
Very important (for me) they have a working back-up generator that kicks in as soon as the power cuts off...

i visited Zanzibar in 11.2011. the travel arrangements were made already from South Africa where i reside. This hotel is excellently situated at the north east of the island. the entrance to the hotel is greatly contrasting with the surrounding area: you get the feeling you are getting into something special.
All the structures are so well maintained that i...
