Firstly can I pre empty this review with a few wee facts, 1. I have traveled the world and stayed in some of the finest hotels, usually hidden gems and boutique hotels, 2. I work in the industry of hotels and hospitality in Scotland. Please ignore the review below which I believe to be false. This is one of the... More

All is in the title. We stayed 16 nights in august. It's true that it didn't exist very good hotel in this area but it's not the reason to make so many cheap services especially when you pay 150-210 per night!!! More 10 for the parking. It's true that you are not well receptioned in this hotel and nobody shows... More

We stayed in this beautiful old Spanish part in this beautiful boutique hotel on the hill of the old town of Altea. Elia and Xabier, the owners and all the staff always on hand to help out and make it feel like home. To the architectural fundies out there this is just up your street if you are into detail... More

Altea is a charming, romantic, and beautiful town. This hotel is the same. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute. The breakfast was wonderful, they make their own fresh bread. Lunch and dinner even better. Fried watermelon with duck was our favorite. From our balcony, room number 8, we could see all of the coastline. Early in the morning... More

We stayed for one night - very poor welcome - given the room key - no attempt to show us round the facilities of the hotel or our room. The paintwork in the toilet and the shower was in poor condition - handprints on the wall of the toilet & faded paint in the shower. Breakfast was mediocre with limited... More

Traveling in winter is not easy, but then, to be as lucky as we were to find this beautiful hotel with top service! To sit on one of the terraces in the sun, enjoy the see views, appreciate all the small details in design and attention for the guests....The owner cooks together with her partner, this is better then El... My husband and I stumbled across this little boutique hotel on the internet and we're not disappointed. After staying at much more expensive accommodation elsewhere in Spain, we felt we received the best value for money at La Serena. Situated half-way between the old town and the beachfront, La Serena had both delightful rooms and staff. Attention to detail, a... More

We have just arrived back from a week at La Serena and loved it. We found it through Alastair Sawday and it didn't disappoint. The rooms were amazing and we were moved to a balcony room for the last few nights. It was quiet and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. Would highly recommend a stay at... More

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for several nights and loved everything about it. The location is ideal, we wanted to be as close to the Church Square as possible and this hotel is only 3 mins walk from the hustle and bussel of the small romantic streets of the old town of Altea. The interior is amazing,... More

Found this place through "Room" Magazine and we weren't disappointed. Really cozy and trendy hotel. Nice rooms with design elements, some with gorgeous views of the sea. Ours didn't have a view but it was still great. It reminded me of some of the trendy places we stayed in Mexico because it's got a beachy feel to it, although it... More
