As we did not actually stay at the resort, I’m not sure that we are posting this in the correct spot. We stayed in Bargara from December 2nd - 9th and booked a trip to Lady Elliot for the day on December 7th. This turned out to be a very wet and windy day. We left Bundaberg Airport about 9:15... We wanted a short low key getaway with good beach snorkeling to escape NYE & after much research esp TA chose LEI. Previous beach holidays have been at more upmarket resorts in Fiji however we were aware that LEI is a much more basic “eco” resort. Our eco cabin was fine for 4 nights – simple & clean- although sleeping... More

The dive shop is not accomodating and lazy. They only offer one tank-one dive in the morning and one tank-one dive in the afternoon. They make you load your tank and then walk to the beach and on the boat with your tank on. I assume it is because they don't want to carry tanks themselves. I asked to have... More

Beautiful place to visit, sea life okay. Value for money NO, This is a back packers style hostel. We paid top dollar for beachfront and received small dingy rooms. Weather is very windy a hit and miss for good weather, otherwise very rough to snorkel most days. They should mention this in their brochure, not just eco resort. I have... More

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience on Trip Advisor. I’m sorry to hear that you didn’t like the accommodation on Lady Elliot Island. Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort is a low key 3 star eco resort, basic but comfortable, and that is what most of our guests enjoy about their stay on the Island. Please keep... More

Just arrived home today from a fantastic first time trip to LEI. After re-reading through other reviews now I'm home I really am surprised how many people have had a whinge. This resort is great. People should read about the place before they book and pay attention to the fact it is an 'eco' resort, in the middle of nowhere.... More

A five night stay in a reef unit provided a magnificent holiday for me, my husband and 11 year old daughter (who wept when we left). At Lady Elliot you don't pay for luxury accommodation or gourmet food although both were more than adequate; rather the opportunity to immerse yourselves in a natural environment. The noisy and sometimes smelly birds... More

Thank you for a wonderful review! We are delighted that you and your family enjoyed your stay, and snorkelling, on Lady Elliot Island. I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed the nocturnal night life on Lady Elliot Island, turtle spotting is one of our favourite past times. Not many places in the world offer turtles nesting in the garden right... More

Do not go. Too windy, too much birds, too much birds poo, basic accomodation, expensive overrated. No contingency plan if the weather is bad apart from drinking alcohol. No TV, No Gym . If you decide to go, make sure you book a week because you only get one good day or two if you are lucky. Book island suite ot... More

Sorry to hear that you didn’t enjoy your stay on Lady Elliot Island. Obviously the weather was not the best during your stay which is sadly out of our control. Summer is seabird breeding time on the Great Barrier Reef and we do get a lot of beautiful seabirds nesting on our island and the bird droppings go hand in... More

We stayed for 5 nights in the garden units, myself, my husband and my daughters 20 and 18. The plane trip over was really scenic and the landing and take off is something else.We felt we saw everthing which the Island is known for. We swam with heaps of fish, really close encounters with huge turtles that even let you... More

I'll preface by saying that I'm a backpacker and I've travelled in very basic lodgings and eaten simple food. And if I was paying backpacker prices, I would have been more than satisfied. But when you are charging hundreds of dollars per night you expect more than leftovers for dinner every night. On two occasions the only meat option for... More

Thank you for your feedback regarding your stay on Lady Elliot Island. A great relaxing holiday away from mobile phones,TV & the day to day life of work that did'nt cost the earth. Accomodation quite ok. Food was simple but fresh, healthy & quite suffient (you could go back & get more food as it was a buffet) Snorkelling twice a day in the various spots around the island was great, along with... More

Dear 44catherine, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent visit to Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort.
