Me and my husband have just returned from a week's stay at the El Cid. The location is fantastic as it is quiet but very close to the beach. Our room was FANTASTIC, very clean, spacious and comfortable, with a large, great balcony overlooking the pool area and the sea!!! Perfect for our morning coffee...and late drinks... We stayed at the El Cid late September into October, having booked through a travel operator. Read the reviews before we went so was a bit worried about staff attitudes etc, but need not have been. My Wife and I have stayed here in previous years and have no hesitation in returning. Check-in staff are friendly and helpful and speak good English. Just had two weeks (end August) on half board and upgraded to a suite with three balconys. Fabulous view overlooking the beach and harbour. This is our second stay at the El Cid. We stayed 5 nights. The Food was great, different menu every night to cater everyone and the kids enjoyed the breakfast (lots of choices).
