This place was a surprise for us. Located close to the Karahangahake gorge and 20 min. drive from the ocean with beautiful views over Owharoa falls. We slept at the Rose cottage which is just behind the family's wooden villa. the house is surrounded by beautiful gardens. The kids loved the bikes and little playground. The cottage was very nice,...

We are here on Christmas Day and just having a very relaxing an quiet time. This is a really pretty place and you can look over the water falls and just unwind. Emma and the family are very welcoming and friendly and cook us a fresh loaf of bread for Breakfast. If you want something a little rustic but very...

Had heard about this property and how great it was so a group of us went there for dinner. We found the situation was wonderful and not a large place but very welcoming and the food was wonderful. I would recommend a visit.

Just off the Karangahake Valley road is this stunning getaway spot, tucked amongst the greenery. We stayed for three nights in Rose Cottage, complete with cosy pot belly stove and goody baskets downstairs and a delighful upstairs bedroom with steep pitched roof, that made you feel like you were in an alpine chalet! Awesome home made bread and tasty breakfasts...

We were visiting a sick relative in Waihi so the trip was not really a holiday. However The Falls Retreat made it as good as it could have been. I booked the Rose Cottage on Wotif after reading the good reviews on TripAdvisor. But they didn't prepare me for just how gorgeous the area is & how perfect the cottage...

The hostess is friendly and helpful. We had ordered a cooked dinner for our first night and that was delivered to the cottage. From starters to dessert it was...

We stayed in Fig Tree Cottage (one of two cottages available) and just loved it. The property was a charming little romantic cottage in the woods surrounded by bird and trees and opposite a really pretty waterfall which you could hear from the cottage. The cottage was well appointed with a cute little fire which we lit and we arrived...

Such a sweet place to stay! We were a family group ranging from 6 years old to 75 years old and we ALL loved this place. The location and views are incredible. We sat in the back gazebo and watched the waterfalls and sunset while the kids climbed in the trees. We had a lot of privacy and felt so...

We arrived tired after a long car journey with kids to freshly baked bread, a wood fire and the sound of birds in the trees. This retreat is beautiful, clean and lovingly decorated with items straight out of NZ House & Garden's pages. Plenty to do in the cottage with books, DVDs and kitchen facilities surrounded by lovely gardens and...
