We wanted to visit Chatsworth House and the surrounding area and decided to go up for a few days holiday and booked the Wheatsheaf Inn on line. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised. On getting to our room we found 'Bakewell Pudding Bear' on the bed to greet us! - needless to say he has been adopted and brought... More

Our second visit to the Peak District and we just had to come back to the Wheatsheaf. If anything, it was even better this time around. Quick, friendly, polite, professional service (Thanks Jade!) Really lovely food and drink in clean, cosy surroundings. We were there on a Friday night and their was a great atmosphere, full of people laughing and... More

Our party consisted of 4 adults and 3 children. The adults meals were all ok, but we were extremely disappointed with the children's. My son ordered pizza with 2 toppings, sausage & ham. As this was PIZZA we assumed it would automatically have cheese on it!! When it came without any - so a flatbread base, tomato sauce and these... More

Stayed for 3 nights over Easter - 1 week after the heavy snow fell. Still lots of snow in the area but roads were mainly clear. Lovely hiking in the area and everywhere looked even more scenic with a covering of snow, especially Mam Tor and Chatsworth. Hotel lovely & warm, food good, friendly staff. Will definitely return.

Went on a Saturday early evening for tea with my 2 children and parents. We were greeted by a lovely member of staff who showed us to a nice table, which happened to be situated by the back door which was constantly being opened for people to go outside for a cigarette (it's february). We asked to move and were... More

I have tried this place twice now for breakfast and will not be going back. The food was not bad but both time we felt as if we were in the way. The middle aged ( and I am being kind here ) waitress took our order and delivered our food without a smile, and quite a surly manner. The... More

just returned from a three day break, the price was very good, and there was an abundant choice of meals, that were quite competitively priced. The people were friendly. The room was lovely...Beer well kept and enjoyable, would recommend it to friends and family any day. Hope to return again, had a lovely break.
