Reception welcoming and helpful. Had room in the main house, furnishings a little shabby but room was clean and comfortable. Excellent shower! Stayed here for a works conference. Can only say that the food was possibly the blandest food I have ever tasted. diner was appalling, overcooked and tasteless. Breafast seemed devoid of any taste and atmosphere was not good. The bar is also completley empty of any character. Rooms are tired and need updating. Would never recommend this place to anyone. Stayed over three nights for a decent discount . The room was a decent size. clean well furnished and warm. The breakfast was very good and service was excelent. The old building is fascinating and worth a visit in itself. The staff that I met were all friendly and helpful. My room was in the more modern annex which some reviewers have derided.
