Have just stayed the weekend with 32 others for a convention. Organised by John for C2T (go to web site) We had the most wonderfull time. Brilliantly organised by our guide !!! Hotel staff couldn't do enough for us especially Liam in the bar. Food was delicious and I was allocated a beautiful room overlooking Rutland waters. Cannot recommend it... More

great for: family rooms Good views of lake Friendly staff Child friendly menus Family friendly facilities - pool, crazy golf etc Not so good: tired, saggy mattress; lumpy pillows; poly-cotton bed-sheets; noise from other guests. The hotel is part of a time-share operation, lodges on the hotel site. No hotel services such as room service, porters, etc. however, we had... More

My step-daughter got married here at the weekend and we had mixed feelings about the venue. Quite a few of the guests had a complaint about their rooms, varying from large gaps under doors allowing draughts, to not having a shower or in our case not having a bath. I will get the negatives over with first because actually, there... More

No hot water in the room. Receptionist wasn't interested. Was told on arrival it was room only but on confirmation later it said bed and breakfast. Again receptionist didn't care and wasn't going to do anything about it!! Stay well away. The best way to describe it is like faulty towers!! More

Stayed here for two nights in April 2012 on business. The hotel setting and grounds are great - rural, peaceful, miles from anywhere and with some great views over Oakham water. You will need a car - ten minutes by car to Oakham, 20 minutes to Stamford and 30-40 minutes to Peterborough. Hotel website and the pictures on here are... More

Our stay as a family at Barnsdale Hall Hotel was special and one which we will remember. We came to celebrate my Mum's 60th and Dad's 65th birthday and with a party of 9 (with 3 children, aged 5 years, 13 months and 9 months) we had a fantastic break. The rooms were great, the food delicious and most of... More

Stayed 16th & 17th March. We booked well in advance being fully quoted the room prices and even called before we left home to check what our balance for a superier family suite was going to be. We had prev come over to have a look at the room we would be staying in as the bride to be was... More

The setting for this hotel is beautiful, with views over the picturesque Rutland Water. You can walk from the hotel, partly along the lakeside, on a path which takes you to all the water activities about 1.5 miles away. The name sounds grand but really Barnsdale Hall Hotel is a very casual place with people walking about in track suits,... More
