Stayed as part of the Newmarket Scottish Highland Railway Tour, just what we needed after excellent days out. A lovely, friendly base. Staff happy and very accommodating. Awful room had to ask to change. Second room a little better but not much. Food terrible, 2 sausages and a small lump of mashed potatoes is not an adult meal. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Stayed here as part of the Newmarket Scottish Highland Railway Tour. Unfortunately we felt the hotel let the tour down badly. Very dated, food was of 1970's era i.e chilled fruit juice, sausage and mash, gateaux, sponge pudding and flavoured custard !! My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights whilst on the Highland Railway tour with Newmarket holidays. How I wish we had read review "Wear ear Plugs" dated 24th September 2012. As we also got room 504. Stayed there in May on a Great Highland Railway holiday with Diamond for 4 nights . The room is above the kitchen you could hear staff talking and a very loud Dish Washer on until 11.30pm. Also loud fans starting... More

Good clean rooms, very friendly staff, plenty to eat with a good choice. Ideal base for touring. The new extension was very comfortable with the very upmarket bath room. Good entertainment every night.

Just returned from a four night stay with Newmarket highland railway tour and really enjoyed our stay here.We thought the food ,room adequate,and the staff provided good service.Was a bit weary of previous reports but a good enough base for the rail tours.

Were on a 5 day package coach/train tour of the Western Highlands and stayed on a half board basis. The carpets in public areas need replacing and some more modernisation would be an improvement..
