Arrived at the Kings Arms /Dusthole to be met by a large dog at the gate, he was collected up by a friendly lady who had been sitting with a man at a table having a smoke, we assumed these people to be the proprietors. Checked in and were shown to our room off the courtyard. The room was spacious... More

Being met by a large Alsation at the gate was not the best start to what was the worst accommodation and customer service I have ever come across. After we fought our way past the dog, the owners were nowhere to be seen. It took us at least 20 minutes to track them down to check in. Eventually we were... More

First impressions of this establishment would most certainly put you off. Being met by a large dog made me on edge about opening the gate. The owner appeared and all was well. I was shown to a log cabin at the back and I have to say it was very comfortable with everything you might need for a stay. The... More

We were apprehensive about booking this after reading some of the reviews, however we loved the quirkiness of the place. It is a 16th century pub, so not streamlined like a new hotel. The kings arms has character, we found it clean and the rooms decorated and furnished to an good standard, the furniture complimented the surroundings, we stayed in... More

We can imagine to noise, the sweat, the consumption when honest to good working men wetted their dry throats and refreshed their aching limbs. Thet sort of yeoman is rare in the land these days. The King is upwardly mobile in the chase for the trade. View it as a boozer and it is excellent. cosy tap room, warm fire... More

Nice welcome from the Proprietor, who took every trouble to help, as did his staff. Rooms a little dated but part of the charm and understand due to be refurbished. Nice bar and eating area with log fire. Good menu and excellent breakfast.

I was dreading my one night stay here after reading some of the other reviews but was it's wasn't as bad as I feared. I was made to feel very welcome upon arrival and was shown to a lovely big spacious room. The decor is a little dated dried flowers etc. However, the room had a TV, kettle and a... More

We had a wedding in Chard and wanted a hotel close by. It was a little further than expected due to the country roads but the hotel was a gem. It is tucked away down a side street down the back of the old babycham factory. It is I think an old coaching inn. We stayed two nights and had... More
