A very good glossy brochure. An imposing building set in a beautiful wooded valley. An appropriately baronial reception hall - so far so good. Be prepared for a Fawlty Towers atmosphere. The castle itself is beautiful, but the service is not worth the 4 star rating. We felt like we were guests in somebody's house, hotel staff watching tv in the lounge..... Also we ended up in a discussion with the duty manager, where is attitude was below any service level. More

I booked this hotel for almost half of the price at an hotelroomauction. Normally the most simply room costs about 145 euro. And I think that is a little too much. The entrance and lobby of the castle are beautifull. The welcome was not overfriendly... We were just a little too early so we had to leave the hotel. But... More

The distances to Valkenburg is 3 km by walking tour and 4 km. by car. To Maastricht centre is 7 km. Rooms are available from 2 pm. Normally guests always can check in first. But if you come hours before.... We often have the new geusts here before 11.00u. Guests can be in their room till noon and than we... More

I stayed at the Castle with my 2 sisters for 2 nights, we had the tower with the 2 bedrooms and a huge balcony. Fantastic view! We were welcomed very nicely and had a wonderful stay. Breakfast is typical Dutch and it was all fresh. The rooms are dated, but hey...if you don't want that, book a Best Western. This... More
