This was the worst hotel experience that we have had in all our years of travelling. The reality of the hotel bore no relation whatsoever to the description of it on the internet. It had an air of neglect about it, and it was in dire need of renovation. After this initial bad impression on arrival, we should have been suspicious when we were requested to pay in full for the two nights that we had booked before even being shown the rooms. If we had seen the rooms at that stage, we would certainly not have stayed. Although we had booked FOUR WEEKS in advance, stipulating NON SMOKING rooms, we were allocated substandard rooms at the side of the hotel that positively STANK of stale cigarette smoke. The bad smell was so serious that it made us feel sick.
