This is a late review. We stayed at the Chateau in May 2011 and had a wonderful visit. We were welcomed as we arrived and directed to a wonderful suite, done in yellow, above the entry door. The property is charming, there are wonderful walks through the countryside and the location is very convenient for touring. M. Roquefeuil is a... More

We were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Chateau Bouceel in the rain to be greeted immediately by the most welcoming and lovely Regis de Roquefeuil! We were welcomed into his home almost like family. This is a true treasure filled with family pictures and the most rich history. Regis made the U.S. involvement in WWII come alive for... More

Dear Friends, What a pleasant and rewarding review! What you wrote corresponds quite exactly to what we like you to feel out of your experience in staying in an old family home: a mixture of souvenirs, some of them very moving and the charm and elegance of an XVIII century château with all the modern day comfort. Thanks again. We... More

We were welcomed on the front steps of the Chateau by one of the pet cats with her afternoon snack in her mouth - a mouse. That might put off some, but we found it rather endearing and even she has got a job to do around the Chateau - pest control! Otherwise once inside the Comte greeted us warmly... More

Built before the French Revolution, this place has history. The proprietor, Comte Régis de Roquefeuil-Cahuzac, is a direct descendant of the original owner. Stay in a large Old World room with up to date bathroom and have breakfast in the formal dining room. Stroll the grounds and environs and find yourself in the 18th century. Also a great location to... More

We felt like we were guests of the family. We stayed upstairs in Charlotte's bedroom which was beautiful and very comfortable, like Grandma Charlotte still lived there. The grounds were beautiful. It was an easy drive to Mont St Michel. Mr. Roquefeuil even arranged dinner for us in town at one of their favorite restaurants and told us about an... More

This beautifully maintained 18th century Chateau was one of the highlights of our trip to France. As soon as we walked into the foyer, we were in awe of the numerous oil paintings of the Roquefeuil family and beautiful French antiques throughout the house and in our room (Francois's bedroom). The highlight of our stay was the time we spent... More

When the owner of such a lovely property opens his family home to the public and goes into the "hospitality industry", well, we travelers are certainly in for a treat. Chateau Bouceel is a meticulously maintained property, the grounds maintained by a grounds keeper who may be observed painstakingly edging a fringe of lawn, a blazing white linen tablecloth at... It is ranked as the top recommended place to stay - and rightly so! The chateau is a real, untouched 18th century estate full of charm. Do not expect television, renovated rooms, elevators plastic or stailess steel. It is a romantic truely old chateau and Regis (the owner) gives you the impression that you are a guest visiting his home.... More

Built in1763 the Chateau is a listed historical monument and is still a family home today. The interior boasts superb carved wood panels, parquet floors, period antiques and family portraits. 18 km from the Mont Saint Michel. Very large and confortable room (Oncle François bedroom) with excellent bathroom. Nice breakfast. As a countryside manor, it does not intent to offer... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chateau. It was such a restful place after the commotion of Paris and the rigors of traveling. The Chateau is lovely. We felt as if we stepping back into time when we entered our room, but then we had a completely modern bathroom and wi-fi. A perfect blend of the old and new.... More
