We stayed at Maple Acres B&B for three nights on our honeymoon. Although the rain started when we arrived (and stopped only when we left), we had a great time during our stay, and Maple Acres was a big part of our experience. Janet and Ron welcomed us when we arrived with big smiles and orange juice, and showed us to our spacious and cozy room. Our room was comfortable and clean, and Janet’s beautiful quilt work gave it a warm, homey touch. Our window overlooked their lovely front yard, and we enjoyed watching the hummingbirds feeding off the porch. The bathroom too was tastefully decorated, with cleanliness and a hot shower that washed away the dirt and fatigue of our daily hikes. Janet and Ron’s fresh, hearty breakfast was great and gave us a wonderful start to each day. Maple Acres B&B is terrifically located. A ten minutes’ drive from Lion’s Head, their home is surrounded by Bruce Peninsula’s beautiful forests, with easy access to the Bruce Trail and also to a great side trail linking to it – literally half a minute’s walk from their front yard. But more than anything else, what really made our time up at Bruce Peninsula a wonderful one was Janet and Ron’s hospitality. They both did absolutely everything they could to help us enjoy our time, providing us with all the information they had about where to eat out and how to get to places, and lending us their maps of the Bruce Trail, which were a great help. Our plan was to spend our time doing daily hikes. When Janet and Ron heard we weren’t packed for hiking in the rain, they lent us their rain jackets, without which we wouldn’t have been able to experience the beauty of the area. Before we left, our wet clothes went into their dryer, so that we could pack them more easily. In short – we couldn’t have done it without them. Last but not least, Fluffy and Tiger, Janet and Ron’s large ginger coloured cats, were also wonderful hosts. They kept their distance from uninterested guests, and were warm and cuddly to friendly ones. We warmly recommend staying at Maple Acres!…
