We visited PS for our third time in January. The resort was busier this year than in the past with full occupancy on the weekend. Even when the resort is full, the beach is very private and little used by most guests. The atmosphere was similar to previous visits with a very quiet and relaxing setting on weekdays but on... We have stayed at this resort a few times and loved the atmosphre. Not this time though. Usually a quiet place to relax and enjoy the clothing optional feature. Not this time though guests from Blue Bay resort below Punta Serena were allowed to stay for no extra fees which was pionted out to us several times, to ougle over... More

Punta Serena is a very small (about 35 rooms) resort perched on top of a rocky point that seperates its own private beach from another huge beach where there is another, much bigger, family-oriented resort (Blue Bay) that is part of the same operation. Punta Serena guests have access to the food and facilities (big pools, evening family variety shows,... More

It is an easy trip from the airport in Manzinillo, great scenery on the way in, banana groves, coconut groves, things you just don't see very often. We arrived on December 4th.The Staff is very, very helpful. It is not "instant gratification" mode with all requests. Remember Mexico, laid back, chill out, take a breath. The resort is in a... More

We visited Punta Serena November 19-26, 2011. The resort is about an hour from the Manzanillo Airport and cab fare is 700 pesos each way. The airport is small. Clearing customs is a breeze. Getting a cab is quick, especially if you have pesos and do not need to exchange money. Staff at the reception desk of the resort is... More

The hotel is 50 min in a rental car from the Manzanillo Airport. The hotel sits 3 kilometers off hwy 200 via a cobblestone road. There are two security check points along the 3 kilometers. The hotel grounds are well maintained and the rooms are clean. The vanity in our room was old but had been repainted many times. The... More

We were at Punta Serena the 3rd week of Oct. and agree with the majority of PdubSeattle comments, including most importantly, we would go back. The Bad: • Facility wise it is a 3.5 star from a general repair and maintenance standpoint. We were very disappointed by the “deluxe” room we reserved; it was spartan, dark, poor view, and very... So I would go back however, after reading the reviews I can agree with many so I'll start with the Bad. The Bad: -It is labeled as a 5 start but it really is a 3.5. -It is older and sits next to salt water so some decay has happened. -The food is kinda "blah". It reminded me of bad... More

If you are looking for a "private" getaway that is clothing optional - this is the place. It may be a bit "out of the way" but that is the beauty of it. Great staff, incredible location, wonderful food. . . we WILL return. More

We recently spent 10 days (July2-12) at this resort that is set in a beautiful location on a cliff overlooking the water. I read a lot of reviews before booking the trip and thought I was informed as well as I could have been. We were looking for a resort that offered clothing optional beach and pool access, and that’s... More
