We have just spend one night in a very well equipped 2 bedroom modern cottage close to the Marina, canal and easy access from the M6. Had booked a lapwing room but hotel upgraded us to a cottage as there was a disco on and our room was right above. Just returned home from one night stay in 2 bed cottage at long lands. Really impressed with luxury accommodation at a reasonable price and very welcoming of dogs. Ideally situated between Lancaster and Lakes which was ideal for our use. Although we only stayed 1 night the cottage was just perfect, very clean, everything you need for a stay. The restaurant serves very nice food and reasonably priced. Staff very welcoming and helpful.A huge bonus that dogs are allowed in certain rooms/cottages.

Nice pub, haven't eaten there, dogs allowed in. Only problem was the bar service, very slow even tho pub quiet. It's clean. Homely, and the menu looks good. There is an animal centre across the way and good walks down the canal

Food can be very good on occasion but unpredictable as can be the staff. Asking for a receipt was like drawing teeth. Live bands are a feature of this hotel which can lead to a good night. This hotel has also a good selection of beers with a number of local beers featured.
