Booked a one bedroom self catering cottage belonging to the Inn just for the one night and we were both totally impressed. The relatively new complex around the Tewitfield Marina was a lovely setting for the spacious cottage which boasted a garden area, fully fitted kitchen, lounge with comfy leather sofa, double shower and four poster bed. The Inn was... More

Booked a last minute one night stay here and have to say I think we found a little gem. The rooms were of a very high standard for the price. Beautifully fitted bathrooms ( although the shower could do with a shelf in as there is nowhere to place the very nice complimentary shower gel once you are in the... More

Went here for lunch with family after a walk down the canal, now we needed some food and drinks and planned to go here. I think the hotel is lovely but for me the food is hit or miss usually. I went for fish & chips however i hate mushy peas so i asked if I could have garden peas,... More

Four of us visited the Longlands for lunch on a dank, drizzly February day, which ruled out any prospect of an afternoon stroll along the nearby Preston-Lancaster canal towpath at Tewitfield. The inn is in a lovely location, just north of Carnforth, and has developed over the past 20 years into a popular holiday base. The owner, Barry Robinson, has... More

Having just attended my works Christmas party at this establishment, I was glad that I did not have to pay the £50 price tag! Firstly we were supposed to sit at 7.30 to eat, we actually got our food at 8.15. The melon starter was OK, if a little sparse on the plate, turkey was manufactured plastic and the veg... More

I have stayed at this hotel for a few days recently and had a good experience. The room was comfortable with a nice v spring bed and a nice clean room and bathroom. My room was at the rear and I could hear road traffic unfortunately. The meal I had at the hotel was very nice and of a good... More

Note - rooms set at 3 as I never saw them, dining only. The Longlands has been popular for years, there is a reason for this - consistently high quality. The food is very good and reasonably priced for the quality on offer. On this particular visit the service was very good and all four of the meals my party... More

We have stayed many times and have enjoyed great beer, cheer and food. Stayed in the cottages and in the hotel too. Great atmosphere in the bar. More

My 2 brothers and I needed somewhere quite local to Lancaster for refreshments on 2nd September following our dad's funeral. We had the Longlands recommended by more than one person, so my eldest brother and myself called in one day to have something to eat and, basically, check the place out. The food was amazing and the staff very friendly,... More
