The setting was incredible. The area is so beautiful. My husband is a chef and I am a wine steward, and we had an incredible dining adventure in the surrounding towns. Umbria is a marvel, and Podere Monte Petreto was the perfect home base for us. Absolutely breathtaking, FANTASTIC kitchen for us to play in, beautiful beautiful rooms, charming and... More

I came and kept coming at Monte Petreto, where the owner Roberta took really good care of me. Not only with the delicious " crostata" pastry she makes, but also with good advice on where to go, where to eat and what to discover in this beautiful part of Italy. I found out as well that it is THE place... More

We had a wonderful time at Montepetreto. The farm is located in a beautiful spot in the hills in between 1000 olive trees that Roberta, the owner, grows to produce her own olive oil. There is one thing that you will have to pay attention to: Pets are allowed. So if you have an allergy like I do, make sure... More

We stayed in the Olmo apartment which is perfect for a family of four and spent a week discovering the area around Lake Trasimeno. Our teenage boys enjoyed the fabulous swimming pool and we appreciated the hillside setting and wonderful views of the Lake. We had fun exploring the towns set on the lake particularly the beautiful Castiglione and made... More

The old country farm run for 20 years by a couple bored of living in Rome; they loved, they cure it, so the place is like in a fairy tale; visitors feel like at home and are warmly welcome; number of independent apartments (bath and kitchen) with fabulous view at the lake (unforgettable sunsets) plus swimming pool (stairs, not ladder!!!)... We spent five unforgettable days in Podere Monte Petrero. Here is why: 1.Excellent location if you want to explore Umbria. 2.Roberta who owns the place is the nicest woman, the dream host and always wants to help. 3.Everything is cozy and clean. 4.The panoramic view to Lake Trasimeno is absolutely breathtaking. 5.Very nice swimming pool. We stayed in Ginestra for four weeks in Sept. and Oct. We were very pleased. The apartment was roomy for two. Very quiet--no street noise, minimal noise from our upstairs neighbors (our traveling companions). The bathroom was modern and large. The bedroom was comfortable with plenty of closet space. The kitchen had a full sized refrigerator and four burners, but... More

We have stayed at Monte Petreto, Lago Trasimeno many times. Roberta Ajo Frigiolini, the owner, speaks very good English as well as German and of course her native tongue, Italian. There are many apartments at Monte Petreto namely, Mandorlo (4 persons), Ginestra (4 persons), Tiglio (4 persons), Quercia (3 persons), Olivo (3 persons) and Olmo (6 persons). Most have a... More
