Stayed at this resort for three days from 31.01.2012 in a luxury suite. Very friendly staff and good food. Would recommend this resort. Given the oppotunity, would certainly stay there again. More

I've been a regular visitor to Unawatuna Beach Resort since the '90s. I've seen it go through ups and downs, and it is definitely on an up! The hotel is simply beautiful. You get views of ocean sunsets from every room, you can have one of the delicious local cocktails while running your toes through pure white sand. The rooms... More

Thank you for letting us know about the blocked toilets. We will investigate why our maintenance team did not respond as fast as they should. We are indeed fixing things more slowly than ideal, but this is because the hotel has been completely full this season and our maintenance boys are overworked (and clearly unloved!). UBR is on a program... More

This was the final hotel of our trip and our favourite. We stayed for 4 nights in a luxury suite with a big room , massive bathroom and a lovely balcony on the 2nd Floor with a stunning view of the beach. The additional extras you get included with the luxury suite are well worth it, our butler was excellent... More

We are glad you really enjoyed your stay. You are absolutely correct, the brand new teak sun-loungers on the beach, part of the upgrading program we have started, are uncomfortable without cushions. You will be pleased to know there are matching cushions in UBR orange due to arrive soon (the supplier has been overloaded), and these will greet you on your... More

We stayed at the Unawatuna Beach Resort for 4 nights over New Years in the Luxury Suite. The room was excellent, was spacious and clean. Staff were great - very friendly and warm. Location was brilliant too, right on the amazing beach. Could see perhaps some improvement in the food deparment but didnt bother us too much. All in all,... More

Stayed in a luxury suite (had a butler but thid didn't add anything to our stay beyond what is expected at any other hotel without a butler) with great sea views overlooking the pool. The stafff were very helpful with all requests. The rooms were great with the most comfortable beds and a great balcony too. Restaurant mainly buffet but... More

Thanks for your comments. We are surprised at the food, which most customers consider one of our strengths, but will look into it, and your idea on seasonal fresh fruits well taken. Reny De Silva Resident Manager Unawatuna Beach Resort More

The website depicts bright, well appointed rooms but i am currently housed in a clean but slightly grotty, drab and tired, cell-like room. However beds comfy, sheets clean, a/c works, lots of hot water. The problem is that it is not what it is advertised to be so there is disappointment involved. Food pretty good, lots of choice staff friendly. More

We appreciate your comments. You will have booked one of our standard/superior rooms in the oldest block, which indeed need to be refreshed, and are the smallest rooms in the hotel. You will be pleased to know that a complete refurbishment program for this block is planned this year. In the meantime, we have improved anything that doesn’t require redevelopment,... More

Excellent two week experience over Christmas & New Year. Our family with three kids enjoyed committed service with staff having that feeling of wanting to do their best to accommodate us. The hotel has a good lay out with easy access to pool, beach, dining area, tennis and so on. The food was amazing with a wide variety and top... More

We stayed at Unawatuna Beach Resort just before Christmas. I can only assume that we were in a different hotel to the one here because our room was quite frankly basic and the bathroom, complete with shower curtain, was grotty. We had been told by our travel agent that it was newly refurbished - clearly not the room that we... More

The room was really small for the price and the hotel need some maintenance. The staff was very nice, it is an hotel for family vacation, it´s not cosy or calm. It´s very touristic not like in other places that i have been in Sri Linka. More
