A stay for 5 days at The Tides changed my business trip to Tanzania into an experience I will always treasure. A real heaven of peace. A place so beautiful and what makes it even more beautiful is the people I met here. Being in Tanzania to check on hospitality and service staying here (during my time off) I was... more

While doing an overland trip with friends we ended up on the east coast of Tanzania, we were looking for some accomodation and the tides was recomended. It turned out to be the perfect end to our trip after two weeks of backpackers and cheap hotels the small amount of extra money that we spent to stay here was worth... more

There is barely anything man-made to be seen along the unspoiled, white sands of Ushongo Beach, except the simple homes of the fishing village at one end, and the seven or eight cottages of The Tides Lodge nestled amongst the palms. This is a real "no news no shoes" retreat on what must be one of the world's last unspoiled... more

This cozy, family-run resort hidden amongst the small coastal villages between Tanga and Dar Es Salaam, is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate while exploring coastal Tanzanian culture. The food is superb, absolutely the best that I sampled in Tanzania. The staff is welcoming and catered to my every need. The pool is a refreshing break from the sun... more

was there with family. young childrens, teenagers and adult. Very friendly atmosphere. Nothing was trouble for Mark. The kids used to go in the morning to find out about the dinner menu and on both occasion they requested menu to their likings and taste and it was done without any fuss. A bit more expensive then resorts nearby, but the... more

We arrived in a small Cessna to a airstrip in the absolute middle of nowhere and found a lodge propably as near paradise you can get. Sun, wind, beach etc, etc . A few nicely furnished bungalows 10-25 meters from the ocean, depending on ebb/tide. The sound of the ocean followed you wherever you went, night and day. It was... more

From almost out of nowhere appears the Tides Hotel, hidden discreetly on the beautiful East Coast of Tanzania. We had looked at websites and photo's but nothing had quite prepared us for what we found. The location is superb especially for beach fans and the accommodation was first class. Very comfortable rooms, bar and restaurant made for the perfect honeymoon.... more

Looking for a half term destination that included warmth, animals, swimming , relaxation ,few tourist s and no jet lag we alighted on Tanzania. Having done a little research I consulted our eldest student son who had recently driven the length of Africa and his first recommendation was for the Tides Lodge, "You'll love it .
