We came here by airoplane from Zanzibar landing on a rubber plantation air strip and taking the Landrover through a small village to the Lodge. A really welcoming trip and drinks on arrival too. The rooms are airy and large - well finished which was appreciated after staying at Kichanga a few days prior. The lounge was lovely with social... More

I stayed here with my sister f in Jan 2012. On arrival we were met with fresh towels and coconut juice - this set the tone of the level of service for our stay. From the owner to the bar staff - everyone made us so welcome and answered any questions we had. We stayed in a beach house a stones... More

My wife daughter & I stayed at the lodge for a week from 26th December 2011. It was a nice relaxing contrast after going on Safari drives at the Ruaha National Park. The mangers, Candy & Graeme, were very welcoming and helpful as we're all the staff. All our laundry (a lot) was laundered at a very reasonable cost. We... More

This review is a little late 1 year on. I can only imagine this place gets better and better. As you get picked up in a field with a bycyle rest as the " airport"by a chartered plane for 2, your picked up and driven around 30 minutes through towns and fields. Red dusty roads that are like a scene... More

We stayed at the Tides lodge in sept 2011 at the end of an amazing but also tiring safari. It was just barefoot paradise, exactly what we needed after our busy week. The food was superb and I can be quite picky.Graeme and Candy, the managers, were lovely and made us feel really at home.We took a boat across to a little sand island... I was staying along the beach at another lodge and came across Tides, so glad i did. We walked in at lunchtime and were made so welcome by Graeme and Candy (lovely couple). We had a fantastic lunch a few drinks and i cant fault the service or the food. Tides is in quite a remote part of Pangani, so... More

you could not find a bettter couple with Graham and Candy to cover your time while in Tides. Attentive without being intrusive, relaxed without being unresponsive. Their calm, casual manner is perfect pitched, while everything ticks along perfectly and smoothly. Hats off to them. It is a shame that the red snapper hell is the leading story. as anywone who... I had read a lot of reviews talking about great food and fresh seafood at the Tides. But when I stayed there recently, we were given Red Snapper 4 nights in a row for dinner. (There was no choice at dinner - it was a set menu). Given how expensive it is to stay here, and based on my expectations... More

Thank you for taking time to review The Tides, however I am sorry you were not happy with the dinners and were offered fish on 4 occaisions. We certainly should not be giving fish every night (although quite a bit as we are a beach lodge after all) and this was an over sight and one that has been addressed... More
