I love Barcelona but in the height of summer everything is heaving full, so I chose to stay in Mataro for 4 nights. It's ca.35 minutes by regular train from Barcelona. Very clean rooms, quiet location and a comfortable bed. Plus a decent breakfast. I would stay here again for sure. Mataro has its own points of interest as well... More

I stayed here for 4 nights and it is your typical (if more expensive than normal) Ibis. The staff are great, the rooms are clean and modern - this is the first I've stayed in which had a bath! It does however suffer from the normal Ibis problem with Internet access. Using a domestic speed adsl connection is not acceptable,... More

Why anybody would want to spend the night in Mataró, beats me. I did it for family. But if you (like me) must, then this hotel is a great choice. Outside of the city center, easy parking (and if you can't find space, there's a parking charged by day at the hotel), clean, quiet and simple but nice. Can't beat... More

This hotel is lovely. It is clean, modern, with super friendly (English speaking) staff and a lovely fresh breakfast. It is a short walk to the beach which is beautiful. In the evening the beach area offers lots of different types of restaurants. The train station is about a 15 minute walk away. Trains are frequent into Barcelona (45 min... More

The hotel is one of the most interesting I have seen. Not faraway from the sea, is separated by the beach by the railway. Not faraway there is a gas station (useful for those traveling with the car) and a large underground parking, perhaps a little bit expensive. You must be attentive to reach the hotel, because the access road... More

The hotel is a typical Ibis (although brand new with a rather strange design!) Staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English. Sadly, although a brand new building, there is no air con available - I was told that it had to be switched on centrally and that hadn't happened yet. It was 16 degrees during my stay which I... This is a very nice hotel, with a different Ibis style, and virtually facing the sea. Quiet hotel, friendly and helpful staff, rooms with the new Ibis design, but a refreshingly new reception, lobby and restaurant design. More than value for money and just 45 minutes away from Barcelona centre by short distance train. More
