We stayed at the Grand Fjord for four nights in mid-July, and can't say enough about the property. The ONLY down-side is that it is a good two km from the center of Geiranger. We had a car, so it was easy to deal with the distance, and it helped insulate us from the daytime hordes. The fjord-view room was... More

If you decide to stay at this hotel, there is no point booking the non-fjord facing rooms. The rooms are simple, clean and not very spacious. But you are most likely not coming to this area to stay in the room. The little balconies are little, but can seat 2-3 people comfortably. Both nights we spent staying up late and... More

My husband and I stayed for two nights in Geiranger Fjord hotel in Aug '11. Having driven for almost 7 hours in the hilly terrains, we reached late evening. After a quick check-in we were given a room on the top-most floor with a fjord view. The owner also helped us with drawing an itinerary during our stay. One look... More

This is a correct three stars hotel, don´t expect too much of the rooms, reception and breakfast, but the views of the fjord are amazing. We paid for a room with views and asked for a room in a high floor. The room had a little terrace from you can see the fjord as you are into it: fantastic. I... More

We had the room right at the top of the hotel so we could leave the curtains open on the huge window. The views were magnificent and the only hotel we saw on the side of the Fjord so you had great view. We ate in the hotel both nights as the buffett was delicious and quite reasonable by Norwegian... We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights in july 2010 on our honeymoon. The only hotel that upgraded us for being on a honeymoon. We recieved a suite on the 7th floor with breathtaking views - from a large window and terrace. Even the bad weather did not ruin our fun and joy from this beautiful place. The location... More

We stayed 2 nights as part of our honeymoon, with room 702. It was an amazing view and great to sit out on the balcony. It cost a little extra for a view of the fjord, but its absolutly worth it.. Some of the fittings are quite dated looking and the buffet is overpriced for what it is. But they... More

The other reviewers seem to have summed this hotel quite accurately. This is a comfortable, basic hotel with outstanding views of the fjord. I'll just add that the buffet was generally of high quality and we chose to eat at the hotel both nights we stayed there. If you do so, arrive promptly to be assured of a table with... More

The hotel is built in local style and it fits very well with the environment. The position right on the fjord and the view from the room terrace are absolutely unique. The buffet restaurant is on the top floor and enjoys an even better view on the geiranger fjord. Food is good, ample choice and reasonably priced. More

Very clean, efficient and tidy hotel. Dining area was lovely and the buffet style food was very good. A room with a balcony was lovely to take in the spectacular view of the fjord, watching the cruise ships float by. The campsite nearby is very good too and really nice to wander through on an evening stroll. Would definitely recommend! More
