We needed a nice hotel with adequate parking close by, and Royal was just that. With metered parking lots outside the front door, it was a good choice.
The hotel had a reasonable sized room, very good shower, and was very clean. At 72euros for the 2 of us, it was good value I thought. Breakfast was also very good...

Had been to De Panne before on way to SE France and decided to try Hotel Royal.
87 Euro for 1 night B and B but well worth it. Had nice double room with shower overlooking main road but it was quiet. Well furnished and goospace area . . literally accross the road to restaurants and beach (although hotel not...

The Royal Hotel is "old fashioned" in the best sense of that word and provides a welcoming and comfortable place to stay in De Panne. Centrally located and easy to find with the Kust Tram and the seafront just a short distance away. The dining room, bar and breakfast room on the ground floor are very pleasant. The buffet breakfast...

Stayed for 5 nights in September,2011. Parked right outside hotel. Owner came to meet us and told us where we could park close by for nothing later on (30 euro a day outside hotel). Good room, nice bathroom. Great breakfast.
The most impressive bit was the helpfulness of the owners and staff. Anne-Aymone de Meyer and her brother Jean Baptiste...

Took ferry to dunkerque, the 20-30 mins drive up the e16 just over the Belgian border brought us to de panne, the first seaside town in Belgium. Very pleasant place with lots of space and greenery, stylish shops and good bars and restaurants; we'll definitely go back. Take time to look at Veurne, a couple of miles inland, a gorgeous...

Stayed here after arriving in Calais late afternoon and driving towards Knokke-Heist. Good place to stop for the night. Payed a bit more for a better room but need not have bothered as all rooms were good (saw a standard room as we walked past an open door!!!) Got a parking spot right outside the door and the welcome was...

Stayed here with friends last week.. The road works are fininished and access by car is now very easy. Parking outside is still free but meters will be installed and locally cost up to 30 euros a day.
All the previous comments are true - superb welcome and general helpfullness by the proprietor (she happily gave us ice bucket and...

We booked a "standard" double room - it was clean and quiet, but extremely small for two people. The bathroom, in contrast, was huge, but there was no shower curtain, so when we showered we could not avoid flooding the entire bathroom. There also was no toilet brush and no place to put anything except on the wash basin. In...
