What a magical place! After three hectic weeks of voluntary work in West Ankole my stay in Mihingo allowed me the time to rediscover my soul. On arrival I was were greeted by one of the managers, who walked me up to the main dining area and gave me an overview, drawing my attention to some Eland at the waterhole... more

What a place! It’s absolutely fabulous up on that rock with the view over the park. The excellent facilities that they have there, the friendly (and happy) staff, and the food we had made our detour off our planned route well worth the effort. I must also mention that the welcome Chris and Katie gave us was superb, they were... more

Mihingo is one of the most amazing places I've ever been. THere is a fantastic view from the dining room, lovely luxury tents...I especially liked being brought tea in the morning. We were with my Mum and Dad (who are quite elderly) and were really impressed with how the staff looked after them. My children loved watching the animals and... more

I stayed at Mihingo Lodge and had an utterly fantastic time. Not only is the lodge itself staggering beautiful, the staff are attentive and warm, the food absolutely delicious and the location out of this world. My highlights range from cantering across the reserve amidst zebra whilst out on a horseback safari (an experience not to be missed!), basking in... more

We chose Mihingo Lodge to be our end of the trip splurge after reading excellent reviews and I was disappointed. The rooms are attractively laid out and it was peaceful watching the animals grazing outside our room. The dining area has a great view and the food was good. However, except for the woman who greeted us on arrival no... more

We were very surprised indeed to read the above report. Mihingo lodge has a very good reputation for warm and friendly staff who are very attentive, happy and gracious to all guests. We have employed nearly all our staff from the local communities and have trained them ourselves. Many of our staff are childhood friends and there is usually a...

We only stayed one night to break up to the journey from Kampala to Bwindi and we wished we'd stayed a couple more, for pure relaxation! Mihingo Lodge is absolutely fabulous! Beautiful, isolated and private tents are perched on a ridge overlooking Mburo National Park. The tents have large balconies and are airy and luxurious- everything you'd expect! The facility... more

When you first see the Mihingo Lodge from the road as you make your way through Lake Mburo National Park, you feel like you’re looking at something from the set of a movie and you just know it’s going to be a special place. We arrived and were greeted by one of the managers, Katie, who walked with us up... more

Our family visit to Mihingo Lodge in the August of 2008 was without a doubt the icing on the cake at the end of what was a very enjoyable 3 week holiday in Uganda. We had been self camping for much of our trip so to arrive at Mihingo Lodge dusty and disheveled at the invitation of Ralph Schenk and... more

We needed a bed for our last day in Uganda nearish to Entebbe but not too near so we plumped for an impromptu visit to Lake Mburo where we have stayed before but not at this new Lodge. What lucky choices one does make from time to time. A beautiful Lodge on a beautiful site, set amongst the rocks at... more

The tented rooms are great - simply done, but with everything you need and splendid views of the National Park. (NB: quite a trek from one room to the next, and over rocky ground, so not for those who find it hard to walk). The food is lovely, simple but good, and there's something available to drink or to snack... more
