we arrived at 4.30 am in Mancora and we passed this information to the hostel, the answer was we have to wait until 7 am when they open the reception, so we waited about 2 hours in front of the door that someone lets us in. the way up to the hostel (it is located on a Hill) is exhausting... More

I caught up with my Aussie mates at Mancora after I departed Lima and had a 20-hour bus ride...hoping it would be worth the long hours with people who could not sit still if they were paid. I was dropped at a prime spot for the motocaro drivers to swarm me and offer me more than just a ride, and... More

We stayed at Kon Tiki over the Christmas holidays and loved every part of our stay there. The bungalows have an amazing view of the sea and the town, and you are away from the craziness of the bars yet still close enough to walk down to them when you feel like it. Each bungalow has a hammock and comfy... More

We stayed in one of the rooms (not a bungalow), which was perfect for us- the room was huge with lots of closet space and the bathroom was also clean and spacious and had a strong hot shower. This hotel has a serene atmosphere, with a beautiful swimming pool set against a mountainous backdrop. We swam and read on the... More

We stayed in one of the bungalows for 3 nights and didn't want to leave! The bungalows are just a few months old and have a beautiful interior as well as stunning ocean views from the terrace. They were pretty cheap for what you get, and if you are on a tight budget you can stay in the rooms with... More

This was a quite a unique place to stay. Our room had a double bed in the middle and 2 bunkbeds against the Walls which we used as shelves for our stuff. The bed was comfy and had a mosquito net. The porch had 2 deckchairs and a hammock ouside with nice views. The shared toilets and shower was always... More

I needed to escape the craziness of Loki, and found an oasis of peace and quiet in Kon Tiki. Set up on the hill, my friend and I shared a 3 bed bungalow at a very reasonable price, complete with our own hammock slung veranda and a stunning view over town and the ocean. The owners are friendly and helpful,... More

Generally an ok place but don't think it is nearly as good as the reviews here would have you believe and there are lots of things that could definitely be improved upon. Firstly the standard breakfast was very basic, bread/jam/coffee but for 4 soles you could have some pretty good scambled eggs. Wifi signal was ok in main areas but... More

The owner was really friendly, and has built a nice place away from the noise of the main town, with amazing veiws and nice architecture. It's only a few minutes up the hill from town but a world away from the noise and hassle.
