If you are going to visit the ruins of Kildrummy Castle, you have to have lunch at the hotel. The friend we were visiting in Aberdeen insisted on showing us the ruins and treating us to lunch. The flowers and pond and different walking paths were so beautiful. The hotel offers a wonderful lunch. You are greeted (I am almost... More

The hotel is set against a stunning backdrop. Check in was slow but pleasant and the local girl at the desk was a delight. Traditionally chatty and warm. The hotel building really is beautiful. They have preserved that classic baronial charm brilliantly. The room was traditional, in need of a bit of TLC. Our room was huge. It could have... More

Have been coming to this hotel once a year around Valentine for a good many years. We cannot praise the hotel highly enough. It has that relaxed old world feel. Nothing is rushed, everything will take it's natural course. The rooms are lovely, but some of the rooms are exceptional. The staff are always attentive and friendly. The food is... More

The building is extraordinary and the gardens are fantastic, the staff was friendly and accommodating. Our meals were adequate, but not special. Our rooms were clean and furnished nicely. It was not a memorable stay, but very pleasant. More

We stayed here for 2 nights, my partner having stayed here before and loved it. I enjoyed it but found our room cold and draughty. The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was good as was the evening meal, although pricey. The wifi worked sporadically in our room. More

Excellent hotel in lovely location. Staff service was fantastic and everyone was very friendly. Room was clean and spacious. We stayed with our young daughter and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely garden to sit out and enjoy a drink and they lounge areas were comfortable. Breakfast was good. Only negative point would have to be the dinner. Whilst the... More

First impressions on arrival are of a grand old house beautifully preserved and the hotel has an air of a bygone era. The level of service was excellent and the food first class, rooms done to ah igh class with great views. The whole experience was slightly undermined by the musak piped into the hall and dinning room, but otherwise... More
