thankyou very much Loretta for making our stay in Holmfirth a special one, the suite was the best and roomiest weve ever stayed in, it was very clean and warm and the breakfast was delicious, the choice of eleven different cereals was amazing!!!!!! we asked for advice on the surrounding area quite a few times and your knowledge and information... A lovely family house in a beautiful location, very convenient for the town centre. We booked the twin bedded room, en-suite but no shower. Although it was a cold night we were warm and comfortable. Breakfast was a choice of cereals and a full English which was well presented and extremely tasty. More

A house with soul, chaarme and warmth. and a host and hostess that did everything to make us feel comfortable. Fantastic room/suite with kingsize bed and a lounge stuffed with motor memorabilia. We could choose whatever we wanted for breakfast, and had the most delicious French press cafe. Two dogs and a couple of cats, all from a animals' home,... More

As has been said on here, Ash House is well worth seeking out and as some of the other posts on here mention, we too were attending an event at The Picturedome to see Billy Ocean. We arrived and were welcomed by Richard which included a pot of tea, tray of biscuits and a chat about the place and that... More

What an adorable place! Stayed for about a week on business, and must say having quite a lot of experience with B and B's, this one ranks amongst the best. Warm and friendly welcome - from humans, felines and canines alike. Arrived in the dark so could not see the breathtaking views until morning. Upon arrival, was told I would... More

What a wonderful place, an absolute gem with the added benefit of furry friends Our stay was so relaxing and the accomodation was gorgeous, didn't even have to get out of my pyjamas to have breakfast as it was brought up to our room or should I say suite as we had the benefit of a large private lounge/dining area... Superb stay, good bedroom and really spacious lounge. The rate per night is excellent, you will not get better value for money anywhere. Richard and Loretta are very friendly and the breakfast is great. The animals add to the atmosphere. Great place to stay if you want to travel around the local area. (Bengal restaurant nearby is superb!). Steve &... More

Having just returned from our fourth visit to Ash House we found a couple of reviewers comments so untrue. Richard and Loretta are such a warm, friendly couple who welcome you into their lovely home and go to great lengths to make sure your stay is extra special and nothing is too much trouble for them to help if needed. Beautiful,comfortable... More

We stayed in May as we were visiting the area for a friend's 50th. Although we were booked in for two nights we made our escuses and left after one. The dogs throwing themselves at the front door of the empty house and barking ferociously as we arrived should have been a warning. As cat lovers ourselves we found the... More

Oh dear, we do seem to be taking a bit of a beating on this dratted site! And some reviewers seem to rather fancy themselves as the next Bill Bryson! One of our dogs was, in fact, dying and could barely stand up, let alone get to the door to throw herself ferociously at it! It was quite obvious she... More

The greeting in the room highlights that Ash House is firstly a family home. Returning late at night to see one of their cats sleeping on the kitchen work surface it would perhaps be better if it stayed just a family home. More
