Easy to find off the A3, this hidden gem of a pub and restaurant has 8 cottage style rooms. Rooms are compact but very clean and have all you need for a short stay in the area. Restaurant serves great food and a selection of real ales. Free wifi in the bar. Plenty of parking. Will definitely stay here again... More

The Pub itself offers a very good range of wines. Bloody Mary's are excellent. The entire menu is delicious & good value for money. These are some of the best starters I have had, without exception. The staff are all very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are all fine, comfortable and quiet. This is not the four seasons, but you... More

I travel and stay out on business and get my accommodation paid on expenses so feel I can be objective in my reviews. Accommodation was a converted cottage and the room was compact. It was cool a chilly when I visited and this was also felt in the room which had electric heaters. Bathroom consisted of a shower, small sink... More

Been to the Squirrel occasionally over the past few years and aware it's changed hands a few times. At one point (I am told) it was a Fondue Swiss Chalet type restaurant - which didn't last long at all. Popped in on Easter Sunday (admittedly a little late for Lunch - but they do advertise all day) - the service... More

Prices up......again. £11.80 for a below average haddock and chips! £3 for a tiny side order of fries..Soup up to £5.50....Love the Squirrel but prices are making a visit a rare thing these days and other pubs in the area are now significantly cheaper. More

I stayed at the Squirrel Inn, in a single room, while attending a 3 day course at University of Surrey. It is located less than 10 miles from Guildford and despite it's proximity to the A3, road noise was not intrusive when in the room. The accommodation was compact and characterful (exposed beams). No storage space in the single room... More

I stayed here for a week during August 2011 with my large dog. The staff were really super and could not do enough to help, even lifting him in and out of the car after he had surgery locally. The rooms are fairly small but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean. Food was very good, I can't really understand how there... More

Nice staff and great pub but since the takeover has been badly managed. Made to wait over an hour outside for a taxi as a private party was on and confronted by the head barman when a party guest bought me a drink. I recommend the Good Intent of Cider house or Inn on the lake if accommodation is needed. More

The Squirrel is in a convenient location and looks great from the outside, where there is attractive and comforatable garden furniture. The staff are friendly, too, and the wine list is better than at many pub restaurants. The problems start as soon as you enter the dining area, which looks like the cramped, basic dining area of a 1950's business... More

Had a one night stay here with colleagues. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was of a high standard and the room was comfortable for a one night stay. Recommend this for a short trip. More
