I have had three consecutive smashing Sunday lunches at the Marton Arms. Plenty of meat and different veg each time, all at a very reasonable price. Just as important, a lovely warm atmosphere and friendly welcoming service by the staff. Not worth cooking at home!!! More

Probably the worst Sunday lunch we have had for years. There was only the one dish available - roast beef- so we ordered that. The two small slices of beef were OK, although swimming in a tasteless "gravy", but the vegetables were inedible, and were left on the plates. The barman asked if things were OK, and was invited to... More

My suspicions should have been aroused when only a few days ahead, I managed to book a room at the Marton Arms for my wife and me on summer Friday and Saturday nights when all previous attempts last year were met with "sorry we are full up". I was advised that we were in for a treat as they were... More

Thank you for taking the trouble to write so fully about your stay at the Marton. I would like to make a few points in response. 1.
