Just spent two nights mid week break at the Swan in Leyburn Market Place.
Excellent host, clean and tidy room. Good breakfast and it includes a subsidy towards the evening meal.
Brilliant value, we shall visit again

I booked with some doubts, given the critical comments of some contributors. Quite frankly I am left to conclude that some people want 5 star quality for budget prices!> The negatives first are that the decor is a bit tired and the cleaning in the dining area could be better. On the plus side it is right on the Market Square...

Myself & my husband first ate her a few weeks ago, and although the girl behind the bar was terribly rude, and obviously didn't want to be there, the food was fantastic, my husband had the fish & chips, and i had the Yorkshire pud and sausage.
So, this time we went,(and we knew to take cash as they don't...

I stayed 2 nights in a twin room in the Black Swan in order to attend a wedding nearby. The rooms are up a narrow staircase with a heavy door mid-way which may be a problem for someone with mobility problems.
On arrival I asked to pay the balance of the room in advance in cash (luckily this was my...

We had difficuly booking elsewhere, so the Black Swan was our only last minute option. Booking over the phone meant only sending a cheque as cards not taken and I then had two phone calls querying and confirming my booking. Everything was fine when we arrived, although the room was basic it was clean, however, the shower was terrible -...

I recently stayed here with family and we had a fantastic time. The Landlord and his son made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. They were very helpful and extremely friendly. The pub itself is basic, however it is very clean and really good value for money. We will definately be returning for another visit.
Thank you to...

The owner and his son are good company always bright and bubbly and knowlegable about whats on where and wether its worth a visit. Its basic but very clean accommodation with superior en-suite facility,...

You read the revues, some bad, some good then you make up your own mind. This we did at The Black Swan and it came heavily down on the side of good! It was a two day break to celebrate my husband's birthday, and, with a major holiday looming, we decided to find a relatively cheap hotel in the Dales....

I stayed at The Black Swan Hotel with my partner over a long weekend. Upon check in, we felt very welcomed. We stayed in a double en-suite room.. it was super clean, and at under £50, great value for money! In the evening, we ate downstairs where they serve traditional homecooked pub grub. Very tasty, and the portion sizes were...

We went for Sunday lunch and the pub is a bit dated. The girl behind the bar could do with some customer service lessons and maybe crack a smile. Sunday lunch was fine though with good sized portions from the carvery although no childrens meals (we had to buy them adult portions). Toilets were poor and to be honest the...
