Just back from a two night stay at the inn. There was no mobile signal which we found was great as nobody could bother us and peace was gauranteed for the stay.I found the real ale very paletable and the open fire was a bonus. Thank you for your constructive criticism which has been taken on board. Just a little explanation. We run an award winning rosette standard restaurant and out prices with restaurants of the same caliber in the area are quite reasonable. I agree you can get pub food cheaper in Helmlsey and I am glad you found something to your taste locally.... More

We stayed here on Friday 5th April. Arrived at 3pm and taken over to the York room, one of the stables rooms, which was great, comfy bed, nicely decorated and a decanter of sherry on the side. This is a great palce to spend a couple of days walking or relaxing. The surrounding countryside is fantastic and the drive from Sutton Bank/Helmsley awesome. Very enjoyable stay in one of the stable rooms. Very peaceful and tranquil. Quality of food served at dinner was excellent, with really good options. Would not hesitate to recommend to anyone who enjoys good food and needs a "get away from it all" break in breath taking surroundings
