The pictures are very misleading. The pool is the size of a bathtub and is in the middle of the resturant so you can only use it during certain hours. The Splendid has an excellent location and plenty of historic charm. The public areas, although somewhat delapidated, are still characterful. The problem is the bedrooms: drafts from windows that do not close fully (diminishing the attraction of the sea view greatly), light switches that one doesn't want to touch, uncomfortable beds and plastic bathroom units that ruin any character left... more
