The Chianti landscapes surrounding the villa are simply beautiful... and the atmosphere here is the one of a family villa, both intimate (you will feel the atmosphere of the past family) and comfortable (rooms have been renovated) ; we very much enjoyed this place so quiet and relaxing, ideal to have a rest, and very well located to enjoy the... more

Second time we've stayed here. First time was in main building which suffers from not having a lift and so-so rooms. The little 'cottages' in adjoining outbuildings more expensive but much nicer. Beautiful location in rolling Tuscan hills. Car a must. Local village Panzano is delightful. Nice 'honour' system in unstaffed bar (except someone stole our wine !). Restaurant serves... more

The Villa gave us a beautiful setting in which to experience Tuscany. It was quiet, peaceful, charmingly beautiful, had outstanding views, and a staff that was experienced and attentive. The owners were available and delightful, a great part of our experience. Food was excellent but not fancy. The rooms are small but adequate. Altogether, it felt like visiting old friends... more

We spent 5 days in Tuscany staying at Villa Le Barone in Panzano which is in the center of the Chianti region. We were lucky there was a local wine festival. The food was excellent at the Villa. Each dinner started with a large table of antipasto. The roons were very nice but room 10 is at the top of... more

We stayed at Villa Barone for 5 days and thought it was a very peaceful, tranquil place to unwind. The hotel is lovely and has some very good features, particularly the honesty bar!!! The food on the whole was superb, it is not a la carte but it is well prepared local food, cooked to high standard and served in... more

Utterly delightful; a corner of paradise. This gorgeous well-run small hotel came up to our expectations. Tastefully furnished with many antiques, the staff and owners were extremely helpful and friendly. Some of the rooms are better than others as is usual. There's a TV sitting room - none in the bedrooms. The food is unpretentious, copious and very good with... more

I have stayed here twice with a watercolor group. It was a magical place for our group. Our room was on the back side closest to the church. Besides the beauty of it all the food for dinner was most memorable. Never will I forget it. more

We went to this hotel on honeymoon 12 years ago and always said we'd go back. This year we did! It was everything we remembered and there was no disappointment. Tranquil, restful, unobtrusive service and great food. We loved the honesty bar. We did include a wine tasting experience as part of our deal and this was not ideal as... more

Sometimes when we travel all the ingredients for a MAGICAL stay come together.  So it was at the Villa le Barone in May 2009.We have visited Italy many times, staying in many lovely places, (including Villa le Barone about 15  years ago when we also thought it was special and pencilled it in for a revisit).   On this eight day... more

This Hotel has without a doubt some of the most spectacular views i have ever seen. you literally feel like you are in a postcard with the rolling hills everywhere you look. its an incredibly charming place where you do feel very at home. I especially liked how they tell you to help yourself to the bar and write down... more
