We stayed at Mourtzanakis Residence in Spetember and had a fabulous time. The villa was perfectly positioned for viewing the sunset with a glass of wine. It was clean, comfortable and spacious. We found Marcos and Smaro were incredibly welcming without being intrusive and added a personal touch to the holiday. They made great recommendations on places to eat away... More

We spent two days at the Mourtzanakis Residence in a wonderful apartment. It was fully equipped on two levels with kitchen, living room, open bed room (on second floor). Furthermore, it had to terraces which offered an amazing view on the surrounding landscape. The residence is easy to reach since it is only 10 minutes off the (one and only)... More

Amazing views, on a beautiful mountain, total silence, yet easy to reach from Heraklion, but you definitely need a car. Warm welcome, villas are fine, beds are hard, optional breakfast was very basic with no fresh items except nice greek yoghurt, so better use the self catering facilities. Wi-Fi was limited due to remote location. More

Imagine waking up by the sound of bird wings battling through the Cretan wind! Sum this with an amazing view right from your bed into the Achlada town valley and the Aegean sea. Everything about this place is simply magic: the tranquility, the view, the Creatn food and the people. If you go to Creta or even Greece, don't miss... More

I came from London for a two night stay to grab a bit of much needed relaxation. After a short flight, a matter of hours, I was removed from all the stresses of work life and transported to the peace of Crete at the Mourtzanakis Residence. Smaro and Marcos have created a hide-away in the hills, no more than 30... More

I brought my group of 10 ecotourists here in 2007 and 2008 and Marcos took care of us as if we were kings and queens... ask for his sister in law's cooking, she is amazing ;) More

We had been to many places in Europe but this time at the Achlada Mourtzanakis Residence we sensed we were not clients but friends of the owners, who never show a slight gesture that they are. Their villas are extraordinary and high quality constructed. So comfortable, and so elegent. During the nights, we experienced Smaro's home made Greek traditional cuisine... More

My wife and I enjoyed an enjoyable vacation at the Residence. The view is spectacular, and the atmosphere relaxing, away from the hussle and bussle of everyday life. We stayed a week there and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all. John More

We have spent a wonderful week with our 5 year old son in the Mourtzanakis residence. The reason we chose this place was the unique location in the typical Greek village of Achlada, away from the mass tourists with stunning view of the landscape and the sea. The unique villas which are fully equipped with kitchen, upper and lower terraces,... More
