I didn't stay at the hotel, so I can't comment on it. But we did eat lunch there, and were served two schnitzels swimming in oil/grease. I also ordered their "handmade cheese spätzle": it arrived with no cheese that I could detect, with several pieces burned on the top, and—again—rather greasy. Our waitress, however, was pleasant.
I visited Lohr because it was the town my grandmother came from and lived in until she came to the US in the early 1900's. This hotel was within steps of the church she was baptized in and attended. We stayed at this hotel during our cycling trip along the river Main. Prices were very reasonable, so we were surprised to be guided into a huge room, more like a suite really, which was about twice the size of other rooms we stayed in during the trip.
