Staying at La Cusinga is like stepping off of the world and into paradise. From the immaculately kept grounds, with flowering bushes, birds, hummingbirds and butterflies in their natural habitat, to the howling monkeys, to the cobblestone walkways, breezy scents of ylang ylang and smartly-appointed rooms, every moment of the visit is wrapped in loveliness. And just when you think... More

This was our second visit to La Cusinga and the first for our children, ages 10 and 6. We had a lovely spacious cabin with plenty of comforts. We as before were awed by the peace and beauty. The children (and the adults) loved both the beach and the wooded pool. The flora and fauna are spectacular! It was a... More

We discovered La Cusinga on our first visit to Costa Rica half a dozen years ago, and ever since, it has been our definition of pure pleasure. We head straight there from the airport and don't budge until it's time to go home. For us, the place has many attractions: the beauty of the location overlooking a marine national park;... More

Pura Vida! Sustainable Eco Lodge, without feeling the need for air condition. I am the first one to say," I Need air condition and hot water consistently"! So when I say, going this time of year was perfect, I mean, no sweat! I was in a group room, so I believe this was the cause for limited hot water. The... More

we checked in and never left for our entire stay. the commitment to sustainable living is evident at every turn, with beautiful, private rooms and fantastic food overlooking the pacific. a somewhat vigorous walk ends at an incredible beach we had to ourselves, and an easy walk the other direction leads to a waterfall and pool with a perfect current... We only happened on La Cusinga having been let down by another lodge. We stayed one night-we were the only guest-it poured with rain all the time but we still rate it excellent. The staff, thelodge, the environment are first class. We had supperoverlooking the jungle being closely observed bt a tree frog. We will return outside the rainy season. More

People ask me what the best time to visit Costa Rica is. My top of mind reply will be the time when it rains… as it is the time that I love best, as the forest is full of life, the colors are greener, and happier. It is the time that I enjoy the most. Thank you for having taking... More

We absolutely loved everything about La Cusinga! We spent countless early AM (with carafes of fresh coffee) and late PM (with cold beers)hours bird watching from the beautiful covered common room. The food was delicious, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the service was perfect. The women working at the time, were lovely and made sure we were happy... More

Cabins were exquisite! We had a beautiful view of the garden (which had a baby boa constrictor snuggling in one of the bushes!), the ocean, and plenty of birds. Yoga was amazing, so were the massages. The beach is a short hike away and that's where we got engaged — yes it's that beautiful. Also, we hiked another trail on the... More
