Like others, we were anticipating a lovely two night respite from the hustle/bustle of India. We got that but in a disappointing manner. The room and pool area were superb (granted we were not there in cold weather) as was the staff. The owners were particularly gracious and friendly which overrode our two main difficulties with the place. First, the... More

The Shahpura Bagh is just perfect. I've never felt so much "at home" in a hotel before. The host and his family made me feel as being a friend and not just a guest. The staff is very friendly, the room and the pool and garden is beautiful and the food is excellent. The trips to the old fort, the... More

This was a great place to stop and have a bit of R&R. The hosts are extremely friendly and chatted over a drink at the pool in the evening which was really nice. Overall we liked it but for the price did not feel it was good value for money Pros: beautifully decorated large bedroom, friendly hosts, interesting tour to... More

On leaving and getting back to decent internet I had to go online immediately to identify if we had indeed been booked into the correct place. The hotel website shows a lovely building surrounded by lush greenery and a lake. It mentions fine dining. Ahem…….. if there were a trade descriptions act in India………..? In fairness we had come from... More

Shahpura Bagh was a lovely quiet retreat in the country in Shahpura. The room in the small one-storey building was very spacious. The pool was very lovely. The restaurant served a fixed menu dinner and the owner and his wife circulated and chatted with guests, which was nice. The rate included a tour of a farm (owned by the same... More

The last 45 minutes spent driving down a very bumpy road on our way from Jaipur and we wondered where on earth we were going ....then we arrived at the Shahpura Bagh...a very special place. Words can't really describe it. It is so different to anywhere else I have ever stayed and a lovely refreshing change from chain hotels. A... More

Spent 3 awesome days. Very nice 45 acre property run by the erstwhile royal family. Very attentive but discreet service. Large comfortable rooms with high ceilings. Bathrooms are nice enough to spend your day in. Picturesque pool with peacocks and parrots flitting around. Loved it. Very memorable. Will definitely visit again. More

Having grown up on tales of Rajasthani Royalty - Shahpurabagh gives a completely relaxed and royal experience. Maya, Sat and Jay are royal both in lineage and grace. The property is beautiful (incredible swimming pool for the kids) with an original castle a short hop away to boot. Without doubt one of the experiences of your life - dont miss... More

Shahpura Bagh for me had a special resonance as it slightly resembled on a larger scale a home I had spent part of my childhood in India. The hosts are friendly people and we were given a splendid huge comfortable room with delightful efficient ensuite bathroom. The room has good tea making equipment with high quality tea which I appreciated.... More

Loved this hotel for a number for reasons. Firstly we were lucky enough to have the place almost to ourselves and managed to grab an uninterupted afternoon by the pool which was a welcome relaxation break in the middle of our fairly hectic schedule in India. In fact if you are looking for somewhere to break up a trip, Shahpura... More
