We stayed in Shahpura Bagh 2 nights. The room was large and very finely decorated in a way we did not feel in a hotel but in a house : a beautiful house. The swimming pool was also very nice and clean. The Raja and his family (his 2 sisters and his nephew) were absolutely adorable and really made us... more

We stayed two nights at Shahpura Bagh on the 21 and 22th of july 2009 and were amazed by the elegance and the charm of this place. The rooms and suites are very comfortable and nicely decorated, the food is delicious. We enjoyed walking in the lovely park and listening to the birds, or swimming in the large, beautiful pool.... more

This is a rare place. An historic family residence that offers all the amenities of a well appointed hotel: large, stylish well appointed rooms; comfort, sensational new pool, and the best food that we ate in Rajasthan. We stayed here with our four daughters for two nights; midway through an action packed three week tour of Rajasthan. This is a... more

This hotel is really fabulous - it is an old family home that has been converted in to a luxury hotel by people who really know what they are doing. The rooms are big, light and airy with lovely high ceilings and feel cool even when it is scorching outside. The food was delicious and varied, and the staff were... more

Our eight hours long drive brought us to my loooong awaited holiday resort....shahpurabagh. Personalized attention, warm service have become a hygiene factor in luxury hospitality today...but it is the genuineness, warmth and ''feeling at home'' factor that makes Shahpura more of a home than a commercially run resort. Beautifully done up rooms, gorgeous pool side and lush green walking tracks... more

The highlight of my trip to India was Shahpura Bagh. It is set in a gorgeous setting, a newly built gorgeous pool graces the landscape while peacocks in full feathers strut by. I have nothing but praise for this gracious family run hotel. I was treated like one of the family, every wish was indulged by a fabulously friendly staff.I... more

Shahpura Bagh is set in idyllic surroundings close to a lively large village. There is a warm welcome from the owners. Our room was set behind the main house and felt somewhat isolated. There is a new swimming pool almost finished, which is surrounded by a pretty seating area. This is convenient for the main accommodation block, but not so... more

Shahpura Bagh was a highlight of our three-week tour of Rajasthan. Beyond looking after our travellers' needs, the aristocratic yet accessible hosts were attentive to our intellectual well-being, sharing their interests and family lore. You may want to ask about the maharaja ancestor who retaliated for second-class treatment at a London Rolls Royce dealership by ordering 12 of the cars... more

Shahpura Bagh is a delightful family-run guest house surrounded by stunning countryside, about two hours by car from Ajmer. I only stayed there for three days in the middle of July this year and I really wished I could have stayed longer. Afterwards I travelled to Sawai Madhopur and stayed at the opulent Taj Hotel, but even this paled in... more

We just returned from a 3 week trip to India. Shapura Bagh was one of the highlights . The relaxed vibe ,the beautiful rooms, the home cooking, being with Sat and Maya and the aunts and uncles, was all a unique and very fulfilling experience. The town of Shapura was a real bonus. We felt so comfortable walking around, shopping,... more
