We spent just 01 night in this hotel as we wanted to visit Chicanna & Becan - the archeological zones nearby. Rooms are very basic, old fashioned furniture, beds not really comfortable, but ok for 01 night. Restaurant service very slow, but food was ok, nothing outstanding. Service was friendly. More

OK the negatives- The gay receptionist is really really odd and unfriendly, and the food in the restaurant was the worst we ate anywhere in Mexico ever ( we have made a few trips). The juice was undrinkable ( we refused to pay for it) and my wifes meal was a mush of nachos covered in green sauce with bits... More

We stayed here for one night after having moved on from Rio Bec which was booked out for a second night. We looked at all the accommodation in the area and this most certainly is the next best available accommodation. It is a large resort that caters mainly for tour groups but it is professionally run and makes for an... More

The Chicanna Ecovillage Resort is a great place to stay if you want to explore Calakmul (about 1.5 hours away) and the Rio Bec sites. Rooms are simple, but comfortable and very clean. There's a ceiling fan and good screens so you can enjoy the cool evenings. I found the staff to be polite and friendly-- they gave us tips... More

We liked the calm atmosphere, the nice pool and the friendly staff. The restaurant was mediocre, but the place was just what we needed after our trips to the many nearby ruins. The rooms are splendid. We especially enjoyed that the remain cool and ventilated without the noisy air conditioning that other less well constructed places resort to. The Eco... More

Beautiful location if you like nature and archaeology . Nice terrace and room. Very unhelpful and weird receptionist. When we arrived the hotel was empty. After 1 hr a group of 20 noisy Germans arrived and they put them next door. They got up at 5 o'clock AM and they woke us up!!! Also a bit pricey. More

Don't expact to much. The people who work in Eco Village looked bored and that says enough. The place is not in good shape well they try with à new swimmingpool but that's it. The room is okay with no airco. We stayed here one night and that was more than enough More

We stayed here only one night on the way to Calakmul and after a long but rewarding day visiting the local ruins. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. Very nice rooms, a lovely balcony, new pool and close enough to the entrance of Calakmul to make the trip fairly easy. The only negative comment is that the food was... More

We arrived down a very bumpy dirt road to the resort, which was very quiet (we saw no other people) and seemed like it was only half-heartedly operating. The pool, which was small, was univiting with leaves floating everywhere and a run-down appearance. The staff were friendly which was a nice welcome and clearly an 'eco' concept had been applied... We stayed there for two nights, and this is by far the worst hotel experience we had in Mexico. The rooms are nice, spacious and clean, and this is pretty much it. The hotel employees attitude ranges form uninterested to unfriendly. These guys do not seem to be managed in any sort of way! Once there, you've got very little... More
