Recently taken over by Shepherd Neame brewery, the Fayreness Hotel is in a gorgeous position, overlooking the Kent coast. For weddings it is perfect, as the guests can tumble straight into bed after the celebrations. The restaurant and bar provide food and drinks all day - ideal for locals and holiday makers alike. Stayed over May Bank holiday weekend. Whilst we were advised there would be noise from a 40th Birthday party, in the end this was not too obtrusive, although our room (403) was directly over the function room. Sea view a must, and 403 had a terific panoramic window. Food was ok, fairly basic, but well cooked & presented. Pub ish... More

My wife and I had a one night stay (6th - 7th) with our two dogs. Staff Peter took our booking, he was very courteous and helpful. The ground floor room was comfortable, spacious and near the side entrance which was convenient for dog walking. Throughout our stay, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The dinner and breakfast... More

My wife and I , with one of our children, stayed here in April for a few nights. There is a relaxed , friendly feel to the place, located adjacent to a fabulous beach (Botany Bay) with it's atmospheric chalk stacks, arches and caves. The food was good; we enjoyed the breakfast each morning, and the range of evening fayre... More

This was our second visit to this hotel. This year we were rather dissapointed. Our ro9om was at the back, overlooking the kitchens. This we did not object to as it was a one night stay however, there were several beer cans and rubbish strewn around the room top that we looked straight on to. Out room (double) was very... More

Having booked early am on Fri 13th through laterooms.com (the last room) & not knowing the area or the hotel we were met late pm by a most friendly receptionist (as are all the staff, whatever grade, from the highest to the 'more menial') & shown to a double, en-suite & channel-view room. Superb! with all facilities for comfort, inc... More

We stayed here for a one night stop over, after booking the day before on Late Rooms, getting an "executive double" with breakfast for £80. We had stayed at this hotel several years ago when we had been given a front facing, sea view room. However, this time, we found the room rather small and it also overlooked the car... More

We stayed for two nights and were pleasantly surprised by the spacious rooms and warm friendly service.particularly Peter?( new father!) who turned his hand to anything from reception,to bar,to breakfast, to tour guide with genuine enthusiasm and good humour.Beautifully positioned hotel,it is a little dated but that becomes charming when the service is good, and it was. We stayed for just a couple of nights over Valentine's & can say we were very impressed, first of all with the sea views & secondly with the friendly welcome & service we were given. The first nights meal the staff were very attentive (although the restaurant was not very busy) & the food itself was wonderful & enough choice.... More
