Clonea is a nice enough hotel, a bit dated looking though. It has nice big comfy rooms, also rather dated. Despite this, the thing that really makes the hotel is its great position, practically sitting on Clonea's Blue flag beach, which makes it a perfect sea side (or surfing) spot. Stayed here for two nights and couldnt have been better facilitated for children. While we did on that rare occasion have fabulous weather there certainly was plenty for children to do on not so nice days like swimming pool, bowling alley, tennis courts at gold coast hotel and then the beach just down the slipway!! what more could you ask.... I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed my brief stay at this hotel. Its location beside a beautiful beach provides an opportunity to enjoy relaxing walks. Its bar prices were better value than most and I consider its room charge to provide great value for money.
