Fantastic place in the countryside near to the small village of Cadouin. We spent there two nights in September 2011. Very quiet: there are no other houses around for kms. The owners and staff are very friendly . There is a beautiful "infinity" swimming pool. Rooms are simple and very nice. Plenty of parking space. Excellent restaurant. Outdoor dining in... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Homely room in a converted cow shed with tea and coffee making facilities - a rarity in France. Fabulous views over the swimming pool and beautiful countryside. We were on fixed menu but alternatives were possible if these didn't suit taste. Good local wine by the pickets. Steve was particularly friendly as was the lovely... More

I have not stayed there but I have eaten in the very good restaurant. The food is excellent and the service very good. Steve and Ann are wonderful hosts. It is best to make a reservation as the restaurant is frequently full. The terrace in summer is enchanting. I have booked all of the rooms for a Company short break... More

We have recently returned from a very enjoyable five night stay at "La Salvetat".The auberge has wonderful views over the Bessede forest. Ann & Steven are charming hosts who make their guests feel very welcome. The restaurant is of "fine dining" standard and dinner is taken either in the lovely restaurant or on the terrace depending on the weather.Wine is reasonably... The Auberge is situated amid the wonderful rolling countryside that you would expect in this area.. We were very warmly greeted by the owners and shown into delightful, spotlessly clean, en suite bedrooms. The food and service were superb and the wines not overpriced. We were lucky to have warm evenings when we could dine out on the terrace which... More

Very pretty and well looked-after place. Terrace and pool overlook rolling countryside. We had a good meal in the restaurant and could hear the amazing sound of stags bellowing in the woods. We stayed in one of the ground floor garden rooms which are comfy and have good-sized bathrooms. The only downside was that the room was a bit dark... More

This is a very comfortable, quiet hotel in a lovely setting and with excellent food. The English owners and their staff are charming and attentive. I'd happily return for a longer holiday! More

Thoughtfully restored ancient presbytery in beautiful rural setting outside of Cadouin. Superior guest services from owners and all staff (no sour exceptions). Relaxed and relaxing, easy-going efficiency in operation. Rooms clean, tidy and well-equipped. Outdoor infinity pool overlooking fields and forest. Dinner menu with depth -- varied enough for a week's stay. Decent wine list; excellent bar. Airy, sheltered outdoor... More

We stopped at the Auberge de la Salvetat for 2 nights on an Inntravel cycling holiday around the Dordogne. Set in amongst woodland and hay meadows we found the place to be idyllic. We received a very friendly welcome from the owners Ann & Steve and were made to feel at home straightaway! The rooms were very pretty, with a... More
