We stayed at the Tirolerhof for a week's skiing and R&R over new year. I had first visited this hotel in the beautiful Austrian Tirol 25 years ago and I am pleased to report that it exceeded my expectations. Its in a great location, 5 minutes walk from the main square and 3 minutes walk to the ski lift and the meeting point for the ski school. The skiing is for beginners, or for those people who, like me and my wife and daughters, prefer picturesque blue runs through the trees.

Our room was a new "Alpine Wellness Suite" which was 600 sq ft (60 sqm) and had a large double bed, table and chairs, sofa, TV, plenty of wardrobe and hanging space, 2 bathrooms, a separate sleeping area for our 2 daughters and a large balcony.

We had full board, and particularly enjoyed the combination of buffet-style and waitress-service. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice and the staff who worked in the restaurant were probably the friendliest and most helpful... more
