The Hotel was fine. The food was great, THE ROOM WAS VERY NICE. It was the fact that the beach was dirty, THE OCEAN WATER WAS POLLUTED. THE MEXICANS USE THE BEACH AS A ROAD, LITTERED WITH TRASH, BOTTLES, FISH HOOKS AND MONO LINE, NETS, OLD BOATS, OLD MOTORS, MORE TRASH. YOU COULD SMELL THE POLLUTION IN THE OCEAN. There... more

The room: We reserved a garden view room for three nights, bot they suprised us with a ocean view room for 2 nights, without extra charge. Perfect service and much appreciated. Beds, shower are ok. Nice atmosphere, with the open spacing. The location: Gets pretty close to paradise! Very quiet, almost private beach with unbelievable water. The restaurant: Not the... more

My wife and I have just spent a week at Xaloc Resort mainly to swim (snorkel) with the whale sharks which arrive offshore from June to September. As others have commented, the (huts) rooms are fairly close together although this did not seem to be a problem during our stay. Our room was large, comfortable and clean, with coffee maker, aircon... more

Me and my fiancée stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and we have to say that they really have nice people at the hotel, we arrived really early in the morning (around 7:30 am) and they took care of our luggage while we chilled-out a bit and then after we had breakfast they gave us our room! (approx. 9:00... more

We moved into Xaloc as an emergency after a terrible experience at Faro Viejo. This hotel is very well located, the reception staff is very professional and friendly. The whole resort was very clean, the huts (rooms) were very charming and big inside. There are two nice swiming pools. We truly enjoyed our 2 days there. Highly recommended! more

It's a nice hotel but no nicer than Casa Iguana or Miwimbe. The govt is going to build a road to get the golf carts off the beach, with will be nice. The plumbing off gased at night. I was accidentally sprayed with pesticide with no apology. Their breakfast is a bad idea--no fresh juice tho the fruit and eggs... more

Just got back from a week at the Xaloc Resort. We had a great time. The Palapas are great. Loved the porch beds. Noticed that they seemed to be installing brand new A/C units in all the Palapas. This should be good later in the year. The food in town was great. We had Italian almost every night. Many Italians... more

My husband and I took our then 12 year old grandaughter with us to snorkel with the whale sharks in July of 07. We spent a couple of days down south on Akumal beach and then drove straight north from Tulum to Chiquila and took a private boat over to Holbox as we missed the ferry....same price and much faster.... more

Stayed at Xaloc for 4 nights in late September. overall had a positive experience, but will probably stay elsewhere if we go back. Pros: very friendly, helpful staff. The restaurant had one of the best meals we had on the island, definitely an unsung secret. the guacamole was THE best, and we enjoyed the fish veracruz. (didn't much like the... more

The Xaloc Resort is a beautiful place and the staff is wonderful. My complaint is that they need Air Conditioning. Even with the 3 fans blowing on us it was still too warm and uncomfortable.I realize they want to be an ecological resort but the amount of energy used with three fans is more then an air conditioner. We only... more
