My wife and I were looking for somewhere to stay in north Wales before and after a recent trip to Ireland. We were enticed by the Barratts website and intrigued by the TripAdvisor reviews that we'd read. It's unusual to find a place with only good reports, and gushingly glowing reports at that, so we decided to stay for several... more

We were attracted to Barratt's by the excellent reviews on Tripadvisor, if a little sceptical that most reviewers only seem to have contributed one single review, with a rather excessive use of superlatives and flowery language. However, we were in need of a B&B in Rhyl and there wasn't really anything else that seemed to our liking. From the pictures... more

That about sums it up because it really was the experience of a lifetime. A lot has changed since I left Rhyl nearly 40 years ago and sadly, not for the better. That is, until my husband and I arrived to stay at Ty'n Rhyl. How on earth does a place this good happen to be in Rhyl? We thought... more

We were staying locally and wanted a a nice meal to complete a holiday with our 96 year old aunt. Barratts happpened to be in the dailoy Telegraph offers so I rang up.and booked. From the moment Mrs Barratt answered the phone I knew it was going to be good. We received a warm welcome and enjoyed some lovely nibbles... more

Found this gem via google earth and trip advisor comments from others who have stayed at Barrett's. Their reviews of this being a 'gem' is absolutely spot on. If you are staying in the area please don't stay anywhere else for the shere delight of the house, the oldest in Rhyl, and the fabulous food too, don't miss this one.... more

I was fortunate enough to have Barretts recommended to me ,by a work colleague.I owe that man a lot. Barretts is indeed an oasis within a desert,a place to retreat to after a hard days work. David and Elvira welcome you on arrival in a manner which seems lost to the national hotel chains. I have stayed at Barretts on... more

Barrat's of Tyn Rhyl seems out of both time and place, set back from a drab and ordinary street in Rhyl. You step inside to a beautiful and welcoming house full of character and history; cosy and comfy sitting rooms with real fires that illuminate the original, decorative oak walls with their ornate features. David and Elvira were the perfect... more

As someone who critiques hospitality establishments for a living this restaurant with rooms was practically perfect in every way. The food was well thought out and highly executed which was complimented by a fantastic wine list. The rooms were spatious and grand. The overall experience made our trip to North Wales very special. more

With a warm and friendly atmosphere this cosy retreat is a must for anyone wishing to experience "Food Heaven". All meals were exquisitely presented and the vegetarian options were, by far, the very best , even when compared to the Jules Verne Restaurant ,Eiffel Tower, Paris. Attention to detail and with a caring attitude to individual needs makes this restaurant... more
