I was staying with friends down the road from San Sano for a couple of months to experience the Italian countryside as I had dreamt of for many years. On one of my daily walks into and through San Sano, I discovered the absolutely magical Castellare de'Noveschi. Barabara, the manager, was at the front desk when I poked my head... More

We only got 3 out of our 7 nights as Barbara (the manager) had cocked up. So we stayed in the neighbouring San Sano Hotel, which is not the same standard at all. We were offered the wine room as an upgrade compensation for our inconvenience, but after seeing the TA comments we declined. However, the good bits - pool... More

We stayed here for two nights and were dissapointed. When we arrived we were rushed into our room with a very quick tour of the property and then told we needed to make dinner reservationsw within the next 20 min or we would not be able to eat there. The chef seemed very stressed and unfriendly so we ate at... More

We had an absolutely magical stay at the Castellare de' Noveschi. The room is just like on the website, very special. The host has done everything to make us feel like welcome guests giving lots of suggestions to discover the beautiful area. Food & wine tasting were marvellous, as well as the footing, swimming & massage (by a real physiotherapist).... More

San Sano is a tiny town tucked away in the hills of Tuscany/Chianti. When we arrived, our host and hostess, Franco & Carla were warm and welcoming. Since it was a cool and rainy day, they brewed fresh cappuccino's to take the chill off and offered homemade pastries as we checked in. Despite the language barrier, they were wonderful hosts... I booked this hotel for our honeymoon. €210 for a senior suite. Was high but It looked perfect..!! We arrived to be told we could not check in as the 1 member of staff was assisting another guest currently and to come back in 15 minutes. We checked into our 'honeymoon suite' to complete shock, it was a room (a... More

We stayed five nights and wished we could have stayed longer. The food was tremendous -"The best meal we've had in Italy!" Hospitality was fantastic. We're going to tell all our friends to stay here if they come to Italy. Mike & Mary More

We stayed at this place for 5 nights the first week of October. The bathroom door didn't close, the shower flooded, there was no heat. The gal who was running the place was unflexible in serving breakfast...etc. She offered to book us a tour through a winery every day we were there, but it never happened. The rooms weren't clean,... I had made my reservations for September 15 to 21, 2006 through venere.com on January 22, 2006 and then followed up by obtaining a confirmation from Castellare De' Noveschi a few days later. On September 1, 2006, the manager of Castellare De' Noveschi, Manuela, called to inform me my reservation would have to be canceled due to a city water... More
