The reception was warm and all special requests, f.ex. an extra bed, were fulfilled. The room was very basic and clean. The restaurant is located in an old chapter house, the service was a bit of a disappointment but the food was good.

I stayed in this hotel very recently. It was good value and close to where I wanted to be.
After reading reviews here, I decided to go for a superior room. It was small but confortable enough.
The bathroom is also small but has everything you need. The building is lovely but looks a bit run down in certain areas...

Not bad. Great food. Open shower soaked the floor though. With all the stone wifi is poor. 13th centuary Gothic architecture is to die for.

The location is really nice, the hotel is actually part of the convent. Service and rooms are ok. The restaurant serves good food, but the portions are really too small, unlike the price.

The hotel is in a very old and charming convent, and I really appreciated the atmosphere.
Aslo the location, just next to the cathedral, is very beautiful.
However, I don't think I'll go back there because the rooms are tremendously small, 190 euro per night for a 3,5mX4 m room, with a minimal bathroom.. Also the cathedral and the hotel is...

We stayed here in August and although the building looks incredible, the rooms just don't live up to expectations. When we pulled the bedspread back the underside was covered in stains, the shower had no curtain or door, so the bathroom floor got soaked each time we took a shower. We had to use the towels to mop up. We...

Following a lost reservation snafu at the planned first stop on our honeymoon (see Le Cagnard), we ended up at Hotel le Couvent Royal. We had seen the basilica from the road on our drive the first location, were curious, read about it in the travel book and, thought, "Hey, that sounds like a pretty cool hotel." Little did we...

The building, an old converted monastery, is much more interesting than it is comfortable. As a historic building the hotel owners are limited by the French Government as to how they can change the building. The result is that the hotel is like a giant echo chamber. You can literally hear people walking down the hall 100 meters away as...

We had dinner at this hotel and it was wonderful. The price was right too -- for around 40 euros per person at dinner, attentive formal service with traditional French cuisine presented in the new French manner. I had the foie gras and fish, my partner had duck and pumpkin soup and a beef stew. The beef stew was very...

This is not a luxury hotel. It is a splendidly atmospheric converted monastery, with magnificent cloisters, a majestic dining room, and comfortable rooms. It rates three stars in the French classification system, and should be judged accordingly. The whole place is built in a warm coloured stone with remnants of the monastery's former glory evident everywhere.
My wife and I...
