I was in Gascony for the annual Flamme d'Armagnac Festival. Although I only stayed at Chateau de Forces for two nights, I was charmed by my Junior Suite, a round room at the top of a turret with a romantic view of the gardens. We didn't actually get around to staying in this hotel - we popped in whilst we were travelling through the area to enquire about staying and dinner rates. However, the receptionist was just about the rudest person I have ever encountered within the hotel industry. By pure chance we found the chateau, we'll stay again enroute down to N Spain again this year. We had just about the last available room but it didn't disappoint, it was full of character. It was comfortable and quite, just what we needed. Ian & Gill Lutterworth Leics UK more
